Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XI

Between tupoi and kiffin... The ncaa can only ignore their violations for so long. Eventually a recruit would Instagram a bama themed jet loaded with cash, hookers, and deer antler spray.

I think regardless of the outcome tonight, the experience that Richardson, Reese, Thompson, Moore, and even Stokes are getting in this NCAA tournament is invaluable. I wish Hubbs was healthy and playing so that he could be a part of this.

Good BB video. CCM at the end shows why we need to keep him IMO.

In the WR, it mentioned that some of the donors have cut off access to their private jets for the basketball coaches to use for recruiting trips. Also, other coaches have been using the "Bring Back Bruce" petition against. It has REALLY hurt our basketball recruiting.

Also, Cuonzo is expected to get 2 year extension worth 500-600 k bringing salary to 1.7-1.8 M.

What are they going to hire him as...quality control assistant?

It's finally happening. Nicky is surrounding himself with scoundrels just like himself. When the castle comes tumbling down this time it will cover most of the state and take 5-6 years to clean up. Bammer just doesn't seem to learn or remember very well from past mistakes.

I am totally shocked that other coaches would use the petition against us! (Yeah, really)
I knew that it would hurt recruiting, hopefully other donors will step up to help the staff.

Does anyone else realize that our moronic fans may have ruined our BBall program for a few years?

Winning cures everything...if a petition could "ruin" a program...it's a little too fragile to call itself such. Try to remember Dean Smith was HUNG IN EFFIGY at the beginning of his UNC tenure

Just like Lame Kitten, whom DID help ruin a program.

If Cuonzo gets a good offer I think he leaves and I won't blame him after reading the war room stuff this morning.

I agree. But, the offer does have to be good.

Because of money, he is not at the point where he can consider a below lateral move. He didn't make a million dollars at Missouri State. We will most likely give him a raise to around $1.8 million, so he needs to stay on unless someone else is willing to offer that.

The note about the donors not allowing use of their planes is disappointing. You don't do that during the year, and you let the results play out. JMO.

The petition doesn't help, but that isn't the major problem. The decision to not let the basketball staff to continue using the planes is a problem. Sorry, but that is disappointing. I know they pay big money, but don't allow your personal thoughts to effect the program. Let the season play out, and then express your displeasure. I am sure that is not the first time it has happened at any school, but that is not a good thing to happen when your school hits adversity.

They might have been trying to force their agenda...which is moot now...I signed the petition but all I needed was some sign of progress/pulse to root for...financially powerful fans...are still fans...they probably have a similar revelation.

I'm curious to know if the donors have changed their feelings or if they will be up to the same antics next year.

Have no issue when them being fans. But, a decision was going to made about Martin's future in late March/early April. Let that decision come before you decide to express your displeasure in February- 6 weeks before a decision is made. Makes you look bad, especially now that he is going to be back with a raise and extension.
