Jennings and Gentry
Jennings and Gibson
Jennings and Nunez
Jennings and Wimbush.

Any of those would be perfect for us.
I really think it'll be Jennings and Nunez/Gentry, not so confident about Gentry anymore. Fake UT of dr could blow that up.
But there is absolutely no way we don't land a top guy after Jennings. No way. I mean look at our WRs. Plus they'll be coming in with number one WR and hopefully Deion Cane.
Plus, Helm and Wolf, Hurd, Scott, Paulk and hopefully Kamara or Love.
I would be satisfied with Nunez.

Since Gibson isnt announcing until after the season, I bet we have our 2 QBs before he even decides to commit. Nunez, Jennings and Gentry all plan on announcing soon.

I don't even know what everyone is fussing about. Zero harm in letting him practice at QB when he first enrolled and after a few practices meet and say ok I like what we see lets keep you here or hey we could really use you to play now here to get best 11 on field

You don't know who and how many at each position they want to take. And you don't even know if Butch sees this kid as a project. In fact, you have NO CLUE what is going on or how the coaching staff feels. All you know is that YOU think he is a project, but it doesn't matter what YOU think of him. You are speaking as if what you're saying is fact when it's actually speculation and conjecture.

We get it. In your eyes he isn't a true QB. I have no clue if your assessment is right or wrong. All I know is all that matters is what the coaches think. And you don't know what they think any more than the rest of us do.

What comments have I made that you find to be depressing?

If you focus hard enough, one day you possibly will discover that there can be differences between a negative person and a realistic person.

And just because someone's comments differs from that of your own, that doesn't mean they are being negative or "depressed" in any way.

UT's overall production & results from the QB recruiting efforts the last 5 to 10 years has been extremely underwhelming, to say the least. It certainly has left much to be desired.

I believe most rational UT football fans would agree that UT hasn't landed or started a championship-caliber QB in several years. And that can be directly attributed to sub-par QB recruiting. UT has consistently missed on their top-rated QB targets the last several years and have had to settle on other prospects. That's not depressing, that's fact.

I don't understand why people (you in this instance) argue on and on about a point (number of QBs they're taking this year in this instance) that they truly have no clue about. You just admitted that you didn't know what you were talking about. So why did you argue the point to begin with? Honest question.

I've never seen you as particularly negative, but lately you have kinda came across that way. Most people (not pointing this at you) who are negative always see themselves as realistic. The most negative people on this board claim to be realists.

As far as QB recruiting, you can't really judge this staff by past staff's failures. Since he has been here Butch has landed Riley (already committed, I know) and Dobbs. They missed on all top targets last year, but unlike years and coaching staffs past, they didn't reach for a subpar player, just to fill the spot. So in all honesty, you don't have enough of a body of work from this coaching staff to truly judge how well they will recruit at the position. So to assume since Dooley didn't recruit QBs very well that Butch won't recruit them well either....well, that does come across as being negative.

Not flaming, just saying that's how others may take your comments.

Did Gibson change his mind about early announcement? Thought he said he wanted to commit and start recruiting for a national championship.

Someone just interviewed him and Gibson said he moved it up from a week before signing day to right after the season

Umm no actually go back through and read the thread I'm not the only one who has said he is a project at QB...And I just read Butch's quotes and I do no what I'm talking about...hometown fan boys of players kill me man...act like no one else can have an opinion on their hometown guys...well news flash we can

What's the diff in Jennings and Gibson? I hear ppl debating all these QBs. Jennings is just as good an athlete. Their both raw and Torrance is a lefty. Similar size. Almost exact same size actually. Jennings is an elite athlete just like Gibson.

He needs a lot of polishing. I agree he is a project.

My statements about him have always been... big arm, don't know where it's going, has funky release. AND unbelievable with the football.

Obviously someone wants to take on this project.
