Mercer had two leads for a grand total of 58 seconds in the first half. Duke was up by 7 with 3 minutes remaining in the first half, and Mercer cut it to 1 by halftime.

Okay. If you're about to play a 3 seed, and they get upset by the 14 you end up playing instead, you got lucky. I don't see why that's hard to understand. But I also don't see why it matters, because Tennessee absolutely destroyed them and very likely would have beaten Duke as well. There's not much of a question that Tennessee is playing like a top 16 team, so who the hell cares how they got where they clearly deserve to be?

It's not the information you present that I have an issue with. It's the typical passive-aggressive manner in which you do it, and then the feign attempts to convince us you're just "pointing out facts that are appropriate to the current discussion".

I watched the whole game, it wasn't as if Mercer made some miraculous comeback was my point. They were in it the whole game and I'd be interested to see how much of the game they led vs Duke leading. I used the phrase wire to wire loosely.

I didn't have to look it up because I watched it happen. You know, with my eyes. I'm sorry the picture you painted was almost entirely wrong, but you don't have to go on the attack about it. I was polite in my correction.

Sorry Vol fans for misrepresenting Mercer's win. I hope y'all forgive me. I used the term extremely loosely, how's that? Once again, Mercer was NEVER out of the game was my point. They were not dominated in any fashion by Duke and did nothing to lead me to believe that they got lucky by beating Duke. Are we here to argue the Duke-Mercer game or argue UT's run vs. Memphis's run? Some can't wait to argue semantics and prove their points literally on here.

No, I looked up the exact time, but based on the fact that I remembered Duke leading almost the entire first half.

I wasn't trying to throw rocks by correcting you. I just assumed MC would, and then transform the discussion into your inaccuracy rather than discuss the actual topic with you. I was hoping to head him off by doing it myself. No harm meant to you. Sorry if that's how it was received.

I guess you're ignoring the fact Cuonzo inherited two dumpster fire vacancies. His last year at Missouri State they should have received an automatic bid, but since they lost the championship game they were dismissed by the committee although they had a very high RPI. The point should have been obvious....Mr. Pastner has proven he can't advance in the tournament with significant talent margins; and that should concern the Memphis brethren.

the great thing about our program is either (a) Josh figures it out and starts advancing past 2nd round or (b) they hire someone who will.

Pastner inherited a similar issue at Memphis when Cal departed and took the roster with him to UK and i'm not a Pastner fan.......

I hate to be that guy. But we played a Virginia team that couldn't figure out its self.... now Virginia would give us fits and possible beat us
