Martin has EARNED an extension and a raise

I think it's funny how people about 3 weeks ago wanted him gone

It's called performing - he's doing it now. He hadn't before.

I'm sure at some point we were in the top 25 during Cuonzo's time, I just can't remember it.

He hadn't made the tournament.

He hadn't signed a banner recruiting class.

He simply hasn't performed... until now. I'm glad he's having a great run - it's great for him, it's great for the team, it's great for the program, it's great for the fans.

He's finally doing what he was hired to do, and just in time.

But I do think it's silly to suggest that he's been a miraculous coach all along and that this past week was just another indicator along the way.

3 weeks ago? How about 5 days ago, what a difference wins over 3 mediocre teams has had. If I didn't know any better I thought they had beaten Louisville, Michigan St and Arizona

Sigh, ask Michigan how mediocre Iowa was this season.

Ask the 6 tournament teams that UMass beat how mediocre they were.

Ask Duke about Belmont's mediocrity.

Belmont? They didn't even make the tournament. And yes 3 average teams. Iowa was the best one of the 3 but they really fell off down the stretch. Those 3 teams are mediocre.

Ehh, I meant Mercer, and there are 345 division 1 basketball teams. Are you really going to call teams in the top 40 or so mediocre?

Most of the top seeds have beaten mediocre teams to this point also. Can only beat who is in front of you.

So I guess in 2010 you weren't impressed with that team until they beat #2 seed Ohio St. to make the Elite 8?

Like I said, Mercer was so mediocre that they beat Duke. Wait, I bet Duke is mediocre as well. What about Michigan, since they lost to Iowa they must me mediocre as well. Also, you know, Kansas was pretty mediocre losing to Stanford.

Your argument is stupid.

You can't ask for anything else from CCM and the team, they don't pick who they play.

Like I said, I'm sure he wasn't impressed with the 2010 team when they barely beat SDSU and then beat Ohio to make the Sweet 16.

I've been a huge critic of CCM, but you gotta give the man some credit - getting into the Sweet 16 from a play-in spot deserves some applause.

Part of the dance is the luck of the bounces, embrace it and celebrate.

Upsets happen. If Duke plays Mercer 10 more times who wins most of those match ups?

It's one thing to say he has to make some noise in the NCAAT to change your mind, and I don't even mind if anyone is still skeptical about next year and on.

But if this point you're now downplaying him "making some noise" in the NCAAT because they got a break with Mercer upsetting Duke, then you're officially just being stupid now, and there's really no point debating with you about it anymore. All you're going to do is keep downplaying anything they do.
