it wont get to that point. The Vols will practice good, scheme to prevent big plays and get all hyped up!! But that all gets thrown out the window when 5 or 25 speeds by them and ruins there day. Then they get tired and our backs get stronger. Long day for 106,000+
Doubt it dude...When was the last time a pig came into Knoxville and won??? Been awhile hasnt it....Not going to change this weekend either, bbq and bacon saturday evening!!

Behold, the power of positive thinking....:good!:

In 10 years, Buster Nutt has not once won at Neyland... and he won't do it again; 5/25 won't be able to bail him out....

ok, here's this years stats for pass defense.

PASS DEFENSE G Att Cmp Int Pct. Yds Avg TD Yds/G

12.Tennessee........... 9 316 188 9 59.5 2203 7.0 14 244.8

lucky for you guys we dont need to pass.
put up every stat on earth and it doesn't matter. Kentucky kicked your teeth in during the second half by running, they didn't need to pass or they would have killed you via air as well. SC game, Mitchell could have thrown for 2000 yards had he possessed even half of Ainge's ability. Alabama didn't need to throw the ball and Auburn has one of the worst offenses in the country. The MS schools aren't even worth discussing from an offensive standpoint. Your OOC foes have been so pathetic as to be laughable. So measuring your pass defense by rank in conference is a complete sham.

Should the question be: Are the Razorbacks ready for us?
here's what Tony Barnhart said about this:

Arkansas ran for 541 yards against South Carolina. Louisiana-Lafayette ran for 234 yards against Tennessee. So what do you suppose Arkansas is going to run for against Tennessee, the No. 9 rushing defense in the SEC? The answer is a lot. Tennessee will have to outscore the Hogs and force some turnovers to have a chance.

here's what Tony Barnhart said about this:
i generally like Tony. I like his appreciation for the SEC and all that stuff.

having said that.......there are a lof of other guys out there who's opinion of what will happen or not i would take over his.

:eek:lol:

He forgot to mention that UT held ULL under their season average for rushing yards.

I fully expect McFadden and Jones to rack up yards, but I also expect Foster and Ainge to do the same.

If you go in expecting your run game to produce 500 yards of offense then you're beat already. Divine intervention is what is needed to run for 500 yards every game. I don't care how great the RBs are.

exactly. that's what a lot of people are forgetting......

we're NOT going to stop them from getting yards. but the question is, can we stop them from getting another 500? i think yes. will that matter on the scoreboard is the question.

honest to tell you the ttruth i havent heard to much about the ark. this year the only break out game was against s.c. agree?

How many great rushing teams are held to low scores even though they rack up rushing yards? A lot of them. Let them run between the 20's all they want.

Look at ULL's ground numbers then look at the score and their record. I know that is a stretch but seriously, rushing yards don't always equal a lot of points.

I AGREE 110%!!! thats a very good point!! look at the ravens a run offence even tho they have s mcnair!:good!:

Why are we even discussing this? Yes, theyre going to run for a ton...but we can still out score them, so it wont matter

McFadden will get a bunch of yards, but he can't beat UT by himself. UT 42 Ark 35.

McFadden was playing hurt for awhile and Monk missed some games. The Vols have the privilege of getting them at full strength.
that i agree with. MOnk is a beast and would start for most SEC Teams.

Justin, also agree. the key to the game against SC was exactly what killed them against us. they were terrible in the 1st half and got too far down. late rally fell short again.

if we don't do the similar thing, fall behind early and can execut our game plan, the whole game, no reason why we can't win, despite likely giving up a ton of rushing yards.

i think we have a big edge over ark. because we have something to play for! what do they have to play for? what maybe a slim to nothing chance if something crazy goes on in the west they will get in?!

Monk is in no way, shape or form 100% healthy. He'll be used mainly as a redzone receiver.

McFadden tried his damndest to beat Alabama by himself and would have done it had Arkansas fielded a something other than a prevent D

Dmac did a pretty good number on us last season. he's capable of putting a game on his shoulders.

like i said, i think we can win this game, but i'm sure if you're an ark fan, you think the same thing about your chances.

it really depends on whether or not we can contain and slow them down when our d is on the feild. hold them to fg's, get them to punt every once in a while....and don't give them cheap points.

honestly though, i won't be surprised one way or the other. either team is capapble of winning this game this year.

All I can go by at this point is is (1) last year's result; and (2) record vs. common opponenets this year.

(1) Gives me a headache thinking about it; nad
(2) Bama came back in the 4th q. to beat Arky by 3 and laid a 24 point beat down on the Vols,
S.Carolina we all saw what Arky did to them last week, while the Vols were very lucky to steal a W from the Gamecocks the week before.

Those factors and them getting Monk and Robert Johnson back makes this a dicey proposition. Even given all of that I still agree with the sports books that have the game listed at no line.

It would be ironic and fitting for this college football season to see Foster outproduce McFadden Saturday. I know it's not going to happen but it would just go along with the theme so far

I know the Arky coaches are resting Monk and Johnson through the early proactices this week. Monk could be 70% and it would still take two defenders to cover him effectively, then you've just lost one line stuffer.

I just don't see Monk doing much this weekend. He can barely run.

Johnson on the other hand could.

But will they need to pass? I doubt it.
