University of Tennessee gonna advance further than Memphis State?

Congrats on the sweet 16. This obsessive need to feel you are better is petty though. The tourney is about matchups and we lack the consistant shooting to keep the defense from pilling on Shaq and Austin. R.I.P 2010 class. I like the talent returning and coming in. Tougher mind sets

We matched up just fine with UVA.

Because you have two bruisers down low. The only bruiser we have is Dominic Woodson and he is a freshmen that needs to get down to 285lb this off season. We will be inside out next year because of the length we have and all the small guards are gone off the team. Nick King is going to be huge next year now that he doesn't have to get his minutes eaten into by senior guards

I would say a mempwuss fan who trolls the board after bombing out to tell us how lucky we are to be in the SweeT 16 is rather compulsive and pitiful to boot.

Congrats Vols, you guys certainly had a favorable bracket. Good luck against Michigan

Why does everyone hate Memphis? They are still representing our state. I was pulling for them, but then again I'm from Memphis and have a certain amount of pride for the city.

What excuse, even Vol fans have admitted to having a favorable bracket so far. I'm not to diminishing UT's accomplishments....

Memphis St got to play GW (a team that got beat by UMass) and UVA (a team UT beat by 25). Who really had the favorable bracket?

Maybe because their fans have an unshakable inferiority complex that frequently manifests itself in pathetic ways when it comes to their relations with Tennessee fans? It gets even worse when their basketball team embarrasses them.

Just a shot in the dark, though.

I am a fan of both teams and don't have an inferiority complex...

Not even sure if you are being serious....

my bad. UT beat UVA by 35 (stupid keyboard)

Outside of playing the extra game, UT did.

why? Both Umass (who beat GW) and Mercer played us closer than UVA. Iowa played us closer than any of those. Memphis St choked due to the pressure and a rambling pregame speech by their young coach. It happens

So, GW and Virginia are world beaters? Outside of Wichita St, I would've wanted to face Virginia if I were an 8 or 9 seed. UT hammered Virginia by 35 points. Virginia hammered Tiger High. Tiger High continues to underachieve every year under Pastner.

They have an inferiority complex not just for Tennessee (although it's the main one) but they feel the same way about the other local SEC schools like Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Mississippi State.

That boy's gonna be a good coach when he gets old enough to shave.

Basketball is talent and matchups. We had more favorable matchups. UMass was over seeded while we were under seeded. And we picked up an undersized Mercer team. Virginia had everything the Tigers struggle with.

Having said that, Pastner is done after next season most likely. He just hasn't learned coaching. He is a good guy, though. He needs to be an assistant.

If he were smart, he would leverage another job at slightly less pay to buy himself another 5 years. He doesn't have to do that now but could if he doesn't improve. Take a job where they don't expect as much and his recruiting would be fine.

No, the fact Memphis fans are whining about Virginia, we beat them by 35...gotta beat who's in front of ya man.

Sweet 16:

Martin 1
Pastner 0
