You mean when black urban literacy rates were over 90%, black marriage rates were higher than white marriage rates, less than 20% of black children were born to single mothers, less than 3% of white children were born to single mothers, our children weren't eating Ritalin and Adderall like it was candy, the government was tiny, the government consumed less than 3% of our GDP, the middle class was built, our wages and productivity were the highest any human civilization had ever seen, our money retained its value, we were the largest creditor nation in the world, our businesses wouldn't think of shipping jobs overseas because they didn't have to worry about the heavy hand of government regulation.

All that stuff sounds terrible, right? But then you provide this zinger: "I'm just wondering what you mean by your comments about the decline of our greatness."

Black urban literacy rates have fallen below 50%, black out-of-wedlock birth rates are at 73% (the literally ripped apart their own communities), white out-of-wedlock birth rates are 30%, more people work in government than manufacturing, our worthless paper money loses value every day, the income gap has widened with bigger government, more taxation, and more regulation, the government now consumes over 40% of our GDP (they're eating us alive), we are now the worlds largest debtor nation, our shelves are stocked with low cost foreign goods (the stuff we used to make while paying the highest wages), we're running a 40-60 billion dollar a month trade deficit, and the middle class is disappearing with each passing day, drugs, internet pornography, worthless government schools, teen pregnancy, kids sending naked pictures of themselves across the Web...

So... what does this have to do with gay marriage. Let me be crystal clear. Listen to me very carefully: We're regressing as a society at a phenomenal rate. GAY MARRIAGE (AND ITS CONTINUED ACCEPTANCE) IS AN EXTENSION OF THAT REGRESSION, and the dolts who don't know history think it's progress. We have completely lost sight of the value and importance of the institution of marriage -- the institution that civilization rests upon. When marriage dies, the community dies. Look at black America. The idea that gay marriage should be accepted insults my intelligence. Children need their mother and father, period. End of story.

Now you can go ahead and call me a bigot. Frankly, I don't give a s***. But I will never accept, nor will I tolerate, gay marriage, polygamy, polyamory, bigamy, and the fornicating sluts who pop out bastard babies like a damn slot machine.

You're cherry picking numbers. Other than government spending, you'r not looking big picture:

- standard of living is higher than ever
- Americans are safer from violence than ever before
- we are more educated (indisputably if we are talking certifiable education)
- we are freer than ever (yes, despite the fact that the Federal government is getting bigger, we are effectively more free than ever before)

I mean, pornography (interesting avatar you got there) and dick picks? That's what you're worried about? ****, I'll take that over slavery. I'll take that over the Great Depression.

Like it or not slavery was a necessity for this country. Without it you could kiss almost everything you know goodbye, including Peanut Butter. So the next time you slap a PB&J together say "Thank you Slavery!". nomnomnomnom

It's also amusing that some see identify being labeled a 'bigot' as some sort of victory badge for their argument or otherwise vomit a canned straw man argument like christian persecution.

Do you make salads for a living? I used to work at a restaraunt with a man we called John the Bigot. I would always send him sweet messages like "I love you John" or "toss my salad", because he was a huge homophobe.
