'15 GA RB Taj Griffin

sometimes the truth hurts. Why can't some posters realize how far we had slipped during the last 8 years. Remember, we lost to Vandy and Kentucky in the same year.

6 years not 8 years, I don't consider winning 9 and 10 games and being in the SECCG slipping. Not to mention, ranked in the top 10. Even then, we never fell as far as bama in the 2000's. They were winning 3 and 4 games a year, losing to EVERYBODY. So still it's odd to be called up and coming. More like a rare downturn that will soon be over.

What ever. We have not been where we wanted to be for a number of years. We will be back there soon, but realistically, we are not likely to be there this year. Next year i have much higher hopes and expectations. Remember, the players we are recruiting now are 15-18 years old and don't remember when we were SEC champs, much less, National champs.

I know 06 and 07 seasons are not where we want to be. I didn't say that. Just saying its been six years of slipping not eight. We would still be relevant if we were having 10 win seasons and playing in the SEC championship game. No that's not the pinnacle but it sure ain't slipping.

Agreed, 06 team was the last really good defense we've had. That team might of won a championship if Justin Harrell and Inky didn't get hurt. 07 team got pretty lucky to get to ATL, but they were still a good team.

The '08 defense was 5th in total yards. ....just no offense.

I think we actually finished 3rd overall in the country that year in defense. Behind only Florida and Oklahoma, who played for the NC that year.

Griffin ended up w/ the 2nd-best SPARQ score yesterday. I believe his 46" vertical is the highest jump every recorded at an NFSC event.

Griffin checked in at 5-foot-10, 174-pounds, ran a 4.41 40-yard dash and a 4.35 shuttle, had a 46-inch vertical leap and a 36-foot power ball toss for a combined score of 124.29.

Idk man.....I had some guys at my HS who were getting a legit 30" vert and we weren't exactly a bunch of stellar athletes. I mean how many times when u were in school were kids jumping and touching the nets or rim on a bball goal just to see if they could. Most of the time thats at least 24". Now think about a top tier athlete doing it. Not saying its exactly 46" cuz I understand ur point about them being inflated but it might still be around 36"-38"

Idk why they can't just do the freakin reaching vertical test. It's a simple accurate test.. this jumping off a mat thing is ridiculous.

Nike is trying to out-tech something that doesn't need the technology.

The highest vertical jump at the Combine this year was 42". There were only 8 recorded jumps of 40+ inches.

These HS "Combines" are all inflated.
