Madison, AL.- Superstar athlete. That’s what you could call Bob Jones high star Reggie Ragland. Ragland is a three sport star in football, basketball, and baseball. He’s already being recruited by some schools at each sport. Currently he is in Florida with his AAU basketball team, shortly after his return he will start two-a-days with his football team. He was kind enough to give us a few words in between games about his recruitment.

“Right now I’m thinking if I do play multiple sports in college it will be football and baseball. Unless I can grow like 6 inches pretty quick. I’m 6’3.5″ now, and I try to play around 240 pounds most of the time. But I go between 235-245 pounds. Most schools are recruiting me for linebacker or tight end right now. I love to play linebacker, but I will play wherever coach needs me. I have two verbal offers from Auburn and Alabama right now. Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Florida have all said they will offer me when September comes around.”

For most football fans in the state of Alabama, you are on one side or the other with regards to your football allegiance. If you don’t like Alabama, then you are an Auburn guy. But for Ragland it was a bit different growing up.

“At first I didn’t like either school. But now I like them both and I don’t have a favorite. I love Alabama’s defense. They are a bunch of head hunters out there. They are flat out smart, and they are like a bunch of ants all over the field, they will come and get you if you slow down. Alabama is a favorite of mine, but I’m still open and most of the other schools are the same right now.”

Some 2012 recruits have been able to take some early visits this summer. However for Ragland he has been busy with basketball so he has not been able to. He’s got a few schools tabbed early as places he’d like to get to during his junior year.

“Next year I will take some visits. I want to get to Georgia, Tennessee and some other schools. I want to hear more from Ohio State and Miami. I’ve been really good friends with Jameis Winston for a long time, since “pee-wee” days, we are trying to go to the same school together. We want to win a national championship as freshman.”

Ragland plays mulitple positions in basketball, and plays centerfield in baseball.

Some of his strong points on the gridiron include his size, quickness, and ability to use his hands. He also claims, “I just love to hit people.”
