Asheville, NC- Asheville high defensive star Jeoffrey Pagan is currently in the process of adding many offers to his portfolio. Currently the standout defensive end is at 25 offers and is hearing from the best schools in the country. At 6’4″ 255 lbs he has an outstanding frame and plays with intensity on the field. Currently Jeoffrey is in that tweener size, where he could play defensive end or a rushing outside linebacker, commonly called the “Jack” position. His offer list includes Florida, Clemson, Louisville, Alabama, Tennessee, Notre Dame, USC, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, among others. Here’s the latest regarding his recruitment.

“Yeah I have around 25 offers right now. I am hearing from Clemson and Florida the most right now, they are both recruiting me really hard. Most schools are talking outside linebacker for me, but a few are talking defensive end as well. I can play anywhere, I just love football. At this point the only schools I can think of that I’d like to hear more from are Oregon and Michigan. They are both recruiting me pretty hard but have not offered. I plan on doing a top group after spring break, I would like to narrow down my list a little and focus on a few schools.”

Jeoffrey was very cautious not to name any leaders or favorites at this time. He mentioned that he is in the process of looking at all the schools, but has not narrowed down the list yet. He is about to embark on a road trip with one of his high school coaches and visit several schools on his spring break.

“I’ve been to Georgia, Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee already. Tennessee was cool, I got to watch them play Kentucky for a basketball game. The coaches were cool, coach Dooley pulled me off to the side and we talked one on one. He seems like a regular guy. I’m leaving Tuesday for a big trip to several schools. I will visit Georgia, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Alabama, and Florida. I’m real excited it should be a real good time.”

He took a few minutes to break down what he likes about a few select schools.

“Alabama is recruiting me for outside line backer, I’m very interested in them, but I’ll narrow it down after my trip. Florida state has offered me, but I haven’t really heard much from them, I might swing by there on my way back from my Florida visit, we’ll see. Oregon I have some interest in as well, I don’t know too much about them, but I would like to learn more. I’d also like to hear more from So Cal, USC. They have a strong tradition and I want to learn more about coach Kiffin.”

Asheville had a pretty successful year on the gridiron. They went 11-1-1 overall and advanced into the playoffs. This year they look to perform even better.

“Yeah we tied our first game last year then won 11 straight. We went into the 3rd round of the playoffs but lost by 14 in that game. I think we’ll be similar this year, lots of players were only sophomores and we lost only a few seniors. I want to break the school record for sacks this year. I’m going to work on my technique, it was my first year at defensive end so I have lots to improve. The coaches tell me I get after the ball, I try to get the quarterback, that’s what I do.”

Jeoffrey mentioned he would like to get a decision over with before his senior season starts, but if not he will likely ride out the process until one of the all American games in early January.
