CB Dolloway is from here in Tempe. My next door neighbor used to train with him, and he said CB's been able to make a ton of bonus money on his fights. He got paid bank to go all the way to Brazil last time and he knocked the dude out fast. I think he said he made $250K total from that trip for purse, bonus, and then promotional money.

That's pretty good for a middle-tier guy in the weight class.

BTW, he's got Machida coming up.

Wow, Bones lost his endorsement deal with Nike because of the Cormier brawl. Methinks the deal wasn't paying out like Nike had hoped, and they want an out.

Thats a pretty good guess. Not that I really pay that much attention, but it doesn't seem like a lot of major corporations sponsor fighters. Usually energy drinks, clothing apparel, casinos, etc.

Yeah, it can't really be about the brawl. I'm sure Nike has a few team sport athletes who have brawled and hung onto their endorsement deals. Why would fighters be held to a higher standard than, say, baseball players?

I agree, it's just an easy out for them.

I would think they would expect it to be more of a risk in the fight game. I mean it is what they do for a living.

That's a weird thought.

I believe Landon Donovan did a Nike commercial about being sad about getting stiffed on the WC roster.

Nobody thought that was a display of poor attitude.

I believe Jones was being sarcastic, like he really doesn't care about losing Nike.

Also, i hate soccer and don't give a **** about Landon Donovan.

It just seems like you're being overly judgmental. Of course he was being sarcastic but I don't think he was trying to pretend he doesn't care.

I guess you'd prefer him to be quiet about it and respond to questions with "no comment"? I like my athletes to have a little more personality than that. There is literally nothing wrong with what he did on a professional level. It will not deter someone like Under Armour from picking him up, I'll tell you that much.

He could have shown some remorse for being a dumbass and causing Nike to drop him, not give them the middle finger. Makes him look like a petty baby.

Honestly, how is this giving Nike the middle finger? He didn't insult them in any way at all. He made fun of the circumstances, not Nike. He didn't throw the shoes in the river. He didn't say they sucked.

I don't think Nike feels like he gave them the middle finger.
