Yeah in every close loss. There are a few what if plays. Problem is schematics by the coaches lost us the game. Not being aggressive when your offense was firing on all cylinders. Toney a former walk on learning a new position, I am proud of what the kid has done. Not on him.

Another big mistake that no one has mentioned. IMO trying a 45 yard field goal with our kicker instead of going for it on fourth down. Our offense had a much better chance of getting a first down at that point and keeping the drive going than attempting a field goal. Just stupid giving the circumstances.

We would have won if Palardy makes the field goal. By missing the field goal, we later go for 2 in regulation because of the point differential. Simply kicking the extra point wins the game.

Palardy is perhaps the biggest special teams bust in school history coming in as the number one kicker in the nation. Add Darr to that list too.

If you're at the 40 with 48 seconds, two timeouts in your pocket, and choose instead to play for overtime, you are in the wrong profession.

As Herman Edwards so famously said "You play to win the game!"

We never went for 2 in regulation.

Same can be said for any number of things that happened during the game. Lay off the players... they all played hard yesterday and didn't quit even though their coach did right before half.

You never know what would have happened if Toney made the pick. There are 4 quarters of football in which ever play counts. One play being different could have changed the way everything worked.

Just another one of those second half meltdowns that have become a staple of the Dooley "error"... Pun intended..

It is never on a kid who drops a pick. It is the coaches fault. How could that be not be obvious? Same as with a missed block or tackle. Or a bad read by the qb. Everything is the coaches fault. Players have no responsibility at all. Any "mistake" that they make is really the fault of the coaches. Surprised you even had to post that. Thought everybody knew it.

If I remember correctly we stopped them on that series and they punted. They did it at the one however. His INT would have really changed field position.

The overturned spot on 4th down was ridiculous. The officials were actually blowing the whistle when Franklin was stretching for the first down.

What I didn't understand was the blitzing and man to man coverage on 3rd and 4th and long.

About as easy as Byron Moore's INT against Miss St. We would have won that one too, but its obviously Dooley's fault they dropped them...

i couldn't agree more. It is the job of the coach to get these young men prepared, and CDD and staff have failed the players on all possible levels!

Every game balances out. Just like how Prentiss made that ridiculous interception in the first quarter. The only thing that didn't balance out were penalties.

We also win if we stop them at least once or twice in the 2nd half. It is what it is.

(1) If Palardy makes the one kick that he missed, we would have won.

(2) If Patterson's t.d. had not been called back, we would have won.

Who do you think called the fake fieldgoal, Dooley or the special teams coach???

We still scored on that drive.
