This is why the 2020 season is unlikely to go forward

Suprised they are human enough to roll out of bed on a daily basis to be honest. It’s dumbfounding.
Government employees from sanitation workers to professors are in their safe little jobs because they can't cut it in the real world. They do make the rules for us in the unwashed masses and answer to nobody. Give a teacher or professor tenure and their enlightened agendas become the norm, they actually believe they know more than everyone else when in fact they are just drains on society. We could do without most government employees.

You shouldn't always listen to The Rock. Take The Rock with a grain of salt just to be safe.

So a virus MANY times less likely to kill anyone in that age bracket much less a healthy person warrants this compared to say... impaired and distracted driving?

THIS is what effective propaganda looks like when expressed by the fools that believe it.

I saw where NC State's first game got postponed two weeks. Players on Covid protocol. I don't get this. What difference does 2 weeks make?

It may be that the Big 10 is going to win the day after all. If the idea is cancel every game where somebody on the team is a Covid suspect, I guess there won't be much playing.

Because there is no logical reason to test people who show no signs of being sick.
Well, there is. You need to demonstrate what % of those who get Covid do not have symptoms to accurately portray the severity of the virus.

As of today, there are about 6 million "confirmed cases". If 1/3 of the "confirmed cases" are asymptomatic as has been suggested then only about 4 million people have been sick. A fraction of that have been severely sick. As of this morning, about 370,000 have been hospitalized skewed toward the beginning.

What if it were discovered and announced that 10 times as many people have been infected as have been confirmed? That's actually the suggestion of the first CDC attempt to calculate an IFR. That would mean that around 55 million people have been infected... and didn't even feel bad enough to notice. How scary would Covid be then?

If you are really suspicious of the "official" behavior surrounding this virus... CDC maintains control of the number of estimated cases if they don't continue to record asymptomatic positives... that means they can make the IFR look as bad as they want it to... or as good.

The people saying you don’t get long term immunity kinda won my over. So for me, it wouldn’t matter how many people already had it. I did think all along that you need to be thinking about a 10x number, and that’s totally realistic, but now I don’t think it even matters in real life. I guess we’ll see. Pandemics eventually fade.

If you take the reported numbers, very few people have had it. I realize though information is useless. Everybody just assumes the information is coming from a global dark cabal of UFO’s and Bigfoot.

This is such a load of bull. It's hard to know where to start at. Your first statement "because they can't cut it in the real world" is ridiculous. I guess Anthony Fauci wouldn't be able to cut it in the real world, after all he's only one of the top infectious disease specialists in the world. Graduated at the top of his class in both undergrad and med school. Let's look at military pilots. I guess they are all incompetent and couldn't get a job with the airlines except that there are pretty much standing offers to any military pilot from the airlines.

And you mention professors. In most cases, particularly in the business schools, law schools and engineering schools the professors had successful careers before they changed to teaching.

Then you say teachers with tenure "are just drains on society." Most of them take jobs at much lower pay than their education would justify.

I'm doubting your life accomplishments don't add up to much. Probably why you're such a hate filled person.

Actually I'm a shareholder/ employee in my own company that employs 60 people with net income in excess of $5 million a year. Too bad you don't work for us so I could fire your ass. (OK just kidding there.)

But if you want to call military service being on the government teat, I was first a Naval Officer and Aviator for 8 years active duty and am retired from the reserves. I guess that falls within your definition of government employees who don't do anything productive.

Thank you for your service.
I said MOST.
We were discussing the left leaning agendas in the higher education system.
I did get carried away. Please accept my apology if I offended.

Hey this is a free fire zone here. No need to apologize.

But I have 4 college degrees and I can honestly say I never had a professor push a specific ideology.

When was the most recent degree earned?
I did not either but that was a long long long time ago.

Last one was in '88. A post-doc.

Lol, the last one I picked up was '97 on the West coast. I was at a Catholic school for the first time. Had to have several electives I normally would not have. Learned all sorts of fun new things there in my 40s, like Denmark was the best country on Earth. Capitalism was a horrid unjust system. Women were the equal of all men in all things. My query to the professor (who was desperately seeking tenure somewhere in Southern California from somebody and was blatantly appealing to all of us students) was why in the world would someone leave the best country on Earth in Denmark to return to like #19 on his scale the USA? His answer was blurry about his mother and her house here in LA, didn't sound particularly urgent to me or any one else in the class. Regarding capitalism, I asked for the professor to name a working better system and give us working examples. He pointed to the Nordic countries to which are all capitalist systems. He demanded Sweden was NOT capitalist but socialist. To which I simply required how can a socialist system have a Queen? I followed up immediately for him to name one socialist country with a royal family. He waved the red flag. My women studies professor was a very highly educated and bright female and I respect her to this day greatly. However, one of her predictions came true but my lead pipe cinch remains in place. If women were the equal of men even physically, why did FloJo not run the 100 meters against the men in the Olympics (her record still remained at that time) nor had we seen a female special operations operator in the military? We had a chica get through Ranger school recently so never say never. My point is we need MORE crusty real world 40, 50, and even 60 something real world adults challenging these 30 and 40 year old idealists in their classrooms in academia. My Philosophical Logics professor even commented it made him a better instructor having my old crusty 40 something rearend sitting in his classroom. I used his own teachings concerning the list of logical fallacies (ad hominem, strawman, red herring, etc etc) where he would dip into from time to time where I was this crusty day to day reminder how in his own words "your internal BS detectors should be blaring when someone pushes a fallacious piece of diatribe on you." Get back in those classrooms old folks, your country and your kids need you and your real world experiences in there.
