I worked with a bunch of Vandy grads when I lived in Nashville. Looking back, I can understand why Coach Cafego felt the way he did. They're arrogant, pompous, and condescending. Also, they suck as engineers. I hope we run‐rule them in all three games.
Attended the Tennessee summer camps in my Early teens. Yes you picked up on Cafego hatetred of Vanderbilt pretty quick even at that young age.

SEC Success Under Vitello
During the five-plus seasons in which Tennessee has played SEC games under head coach Tony Vitello, the Vols are 104-70 in league play. In the six full seasons prior to Vitello taking over (2012-17), UT was 81-120 in SEC play.

UT has posted 15 series sweeps in conference play under Vitello: 2024 (2), 2023 (3), 2022 (6), 2021 (2), 2019 (1), 2018 (1). Success on Sundays, Series Finales & Rubber Games
UT has played some of its best baseball on Sundays, posting an 9-1 record on Sunday this year. The Vols are also 11-1 in series finales this season after last Saturday's 16-3 run-rule victory at Florida to win the series.

After an unusual season in 2023 where they only played two rubber games all year, six of the Vols' eight SEC series so far this season have featured a rubber game. Tennessee is 5-1 in those games, having won five consecutive decisive game threes against the likes of No. 18 Ole Miss, No. 22 Georgia, Auburn, No. 3 Kentucky and Florida. Little Brother's best sport and we've still beaten them 53% of the time and 80% the last 3+ seasons.

As stated, my expectations are that we beat them so bad in first 2 games that plenty of tickets will be available for Sunday

I wonder how there's been 19 more games in Nashville than Knoxville?

I look for Vanderbilt to try beating the BaseVols with the running game and distract our pitchers. For that to work, the Dores have to hope our recent batting slump remains in place as manufacturing runs does not work well against a teams scoring 10+ runs. I also look for Timmay to try distracting the Vols with the typical crap with bat stickers, rolled bats, and other distractions.

Some interesting things in this interview.

1: he once again says the 2022 team needs a netflix special. Mentioned 4 separate rule changes that can be attributed to that team including home run celebration ban.

2: said we could see AJ Russell this weekend. He didn’t give a percentage chance on it, just said it’s possible

3: for @mattdingus2002 concerns.. I doubt this will console you, but he said he’s noticed the “nasty” factor that Lindsey Nelson had in 2021 and 2022 is gone. Said they’re trying to figure out how to fix it, but acknowledged that premium seating is replacing where the students used to get sat. Said that right field line and behind the right field wall will be for students and hoped that would help.

Most of the students up front now aren’t a big fan of the more colorful language that you had in the 21 and some of 22, though towards the end of 22 that group couldn’t make it out there as much due to the lines being 3hours long. This year there is no line, mainly because they make you go inside the stadium as soon as you get the ticket compared to previous years where you got a ticket and left. Theres also a different feeling with the whole crowd, I didn’t think I’d ever been told to sit down and that you don’t need to stand up at a baseball game, it’s a student section, it’s not some high end club. A bunch of the students leave early now and I don’t really blame them when you have to spend 2 hours before the game in the seats. The overall crowd is also a lot worse, it’s more high dollar with most seats being season tickets, I understand it makes them more money but it really drains out the atmosphere of the crowd and makes it feel like a tennis match. Theres a lot of other small things I could go into like the security checkpoints being moved back so you no longer wait at the gate, I’m hoping that changes for the postseason because tailgating with friends in line at the gate from 7 am until they opened for regionals and supers in 21 and 22 is something that really got me into the sport, hopefully they can move that stuff to allow it again, but I doubt it. I honestly don’t expect Danny white to let students have a section in the postseason, he’s a great AD but he takes every chance he gets to make a buck

There’s a comedian named Dave Smith who said all the woke stuff has flipped the script on him and I feel the same way. I never imagined when I was an adult I’d have high school and college kids telling me “watch your language.” That’s supposed to be my job now 😂

It’s a good special. Revolves around 90s kids operating in the world today mostly.
