Tennessee Lady Vol News

And just to comment a little more,
If LV fans in all sports donate and get their businesses (where applicable) to participate (even on a small scale), the pie will get bigger, bruh.

...you don't pull the money from the place that started it all at the expense of [that] team to give the support to teams that don't have the same fan support
Self awareness drops below zero.

Lawson Renie in 22-23. Jordan Fusco, Macaira Midgley, and Ally Zazzara in 23-24. I don't think all the participants have been announced for 24-25.
My impression was that the LV Boost Her Club was the only way to support soccer, which is (I’m sorry to say) the only reason I even started contributing. Nice to know that’s not the case!

This program doesn't provide NIL-like financial support to participants. It's a year-long leadership curriculum (probably for class credit), culminating in an expenses-paid international cultural exchange trip in the summer. I don't know whether there's a small stipend for the summer period. But this is not NIL. It's an educational program run by the athletic department. It's an honor and a great opportunity.

LV Boost Her Club may be the only way to support soccer NIL. I don't know.

I went ahead and got for you all the participants for the last 2 years.

Ah! Thanks for further clarifying and illustrating all my knowledge gaps 😂 It sounds like an amazing professional development opportunity, and I really appreciate you digging into it for me. As I’ve said eleventy billion times, I think the development of our student athletes as professionals and individuals is as important as athletic performance so it’s very cool to get more insight into a program doing just that.

But the LVs wanted their own. Or at least some organizers claiming to represent the LVs wanted to run their own collective. You might notice their own idea (as opposed to Spyre's) was that their collective would not share funds with other sports. You a big fan of that idea? Because every team could have its own NIL.

That is an embarrassingly ridiculous claim. Even if you add the men, and it doesn't sound like you are adding NCAAM.

Plus most fans love multiple Vols sports. It's strange to ever encounter someone who doesn't.

Do you really want to look into which Tennessee program that is true for? It sounds like you resent either Spyre or LV basketball sharing funds with other LV teams. Do you really want your "principle" to be universalized? Because it could be.

Do you really want to identify and discuss the only program "adversely" affected by the #everythingschool slogan and policy? And have you noticed how those fans 100% embrace #everythingschool for love of Tennessee sports.

All for one, and one for all. Every Tennessee team that does well creates a synergy that helps every other team. It builds the brand. It builds a family across different individual sport-based fan bases. Also, recruits know of Tennessee athletics beyond the sport they play. We are staying in the broadcast cycle year-round now, and intend to up that.

So stop sniping at our NIL. And stop... biting the hand that feeds you.

Also, are you a member, or just a complainer?
Tell me again you ( or relative) don’t have anything thing to do with the athletic department.

No, I do not. Nor do I have a relative there or any connection besides alumni. Now if Randy, Donde, or DW want to adopt me, I would give it consideration. 😂

I am just an avid Vols fan. Have been since I was 5 or 6 years old. Trying to pump up the LVs. And shut down the endless negativity. All of our programs have been through this before at different times. It's not an attack on the forum, just some people who won't orient themselves to the chance we have here and let go of the old sad songs.

I do think everything that our every team succeeds in does build up the brand, and a stronger brand helps every team we have, don't you? Also a lot of recruits watch sports all year, or at least are aware of who the big teams are. And a lot of teams go to watch our other teams play. I really don't think what I am saying is anything more than usual for most Vols fans. All for one, and one for all.

Don't be suspicious, Lucy, my friend. We're trying to be family across programs. If you do happen to care only about LV basketball, maybe catch one of our other team's games sometimes and see how it feels to root for us. And at the least, appreciate how many additional eyeballs this "everything school" mantra brings to LV basketball. It's a positive, not a negative, however you cut it.

Okay. That is not an insult but your posts seem awfully full of ready to post details, marketing department verbiage and the company line. It would, IMO be unethical for someone connected to the athletic department to post on here without identifying that association.
I do agree with you that all sports need to be supported.

It's just that I really think everything is heading in a positive direction, Lucy. Across the board.

The details are because I do follow the details. I learned a lot about how NIL works from being a fan and supporter of Spyre from the beginning, and I follow recruiting in multiple sports. I'm not really marketing, I am just really happy that what is happening for us is finally happening. We've been years in the wilderness.

I do -- and then also do not -- understand your worries about the company line. The "company" in this case is Tennessee athletics. I am proud to be a Vols fan. And as I said, I think this is the best time across the board that I ever remember for us. And it keeps getting better. I think the emphasis to get LV basketball back is earnest. And that it will succeed. Not in a day. I just happen to love our leadership right now and how things are going. I don't want to go into the details about the negative, but I have seen times (may they be gone forever) that made me want to pull my hair out. This ain't that.

From your lips to god’s ear that we have everything going in the right direction. I am cautiously optimistic regarding LVBB but absolutely hate that some posters still feel the need to hammer Kellie. That makes me want to pull my hair out! Why kick someone when they’re down?
I like lots about the new coach (little worried about her lack of P5 experience) and am anxious to see the new systems on the court in the fall. She will undoubtedly have successes and failures but as long as she learns from them that’s okay. I do hope CKC will respect and continue our Lady Vol traditions. With Pat gone, hopefully she will reach out to Joan Cronan as a touchstone for the program’s culture and history.
We shall see.

I absolutely agree with you about people pitting one coach against the other, Lucy. Absolutely counterproductive. Causes needless division. Always generates more heat than light. I guess when I "go off," it's usually on that score.

I think it was during her introductory media conference Caldwell mentioned she and her sisters grew up big Lady Vols fans and that her sisters were going to be so jealous. Sweet comment — that said a lot. It means she and her sisters were fans during some pretty darn good years for Lady Vols basketball, and are likely to be well aware of the strong tradition and the pride past Lady Vols have in sharing them as a sisterhood.

Kim Caldwell is now a Lady Vol at the top of the program. I’d bet the farm she’ll be an excellent caretaker of it. She knows where she is and what it means. 🧡

I have nightmares about Lane Kiffin playing the USC fight song in the athletic facility.

I've asked this question so many times, even emailed Spyre but can't get an answer. Maybe you can help. Can donations to Spyre be earmarked or directed to specific sports? Maybe the large corporate ones can? If not, how is it decided which sport gets how much money from the general donations to the collective? Who makes those calls?

The poor South Carolina fans are having a hard time getting over very few people caring that they won.

Iowa was definitely “America’s Team” this season.

Part of me feels like it’s payback for hanging that “undefeated regular season champions” banner lol. That got LOTS of attention, now their actual undefeated natty has been brushed under the rug with all the talk about Clark.

Media machine has move right on to the WNBA, definitely a different level of coverage for the W already. Used to be you had to become Colombo to figure out when the season tipped! Not anymore lol

Iowa was the medias team, not America’s team.
