For all you know, Georgia will go out and pay a coach 6 million dollars to leave their current job. It's not like Georgia is some crummy school and has no shot at hiring legit coach. They're good enough and have the money that they could come out on top with a better coach.
It's still there, but the author is being roundly mocked.
Of course, with credentials like this, how can one doubt?

I like Richt as a person. Seems to be a good guy. I'll add that he is a savvy businessman too. He's punked several schools to get UGA to ante up more $.
It's a business really, and UGA might could do better with someone else, but what he has done there is pretty dang good. I'd wager he'd have success anywhere he left for, if and when he chooses to. Leaving now does not seem logical for him and doubt this rumor has any legs to it.
