You all need to be nice to VolMaverick. All he was trying to do was quietly and calmly show an inaccuracy in some statements. We should thank him for having the courage to constantly bring us the truth in the liberal cesspool that is VolNation.

He was right on all accounts but it didn't make the impact that he wanted. Building ANY Chrysler, GM, or Ford vehicle anywhere but the US is taking "potential" jobs from US workers because the US is the home country for these automakers. The same way that we are taking jobs from Japanese workers. The push comes when the purchasing countries want vehicles that are built in their country ergo those "potential" jobs go to other countries. However, if the purchasing countries weren't going to buy the vehicles anyway, then the "potential" jobs would never be realized in the automakers home countries. He was right in the fact that "potential" jobs were going overseas, but the fact is that those jobs would never have been realized anyway. Was a stupid point for him to bring up.

Why not use a plant in the USA to build autos to sell to the Chinese? If the Chinese are going to buy Jeeps

Evidently the Chinese DON'T buy Jeeps because according to the libs here, the plant was shut down because of low sales. So if Jeep sales are low in China, where are all those Jeeps that they build going to go? Cheaper to build Jeeps in non-union sweatshops in China and ship them here than it is to build them here in union shops. But hey, we are a global economy now, everyone has to have a piece of the ever shrinking pie.

The US will lose jobs due Jeeps being built in China, it may not happen in the next year or so, but it will happen. Romney was right, the media and the socialist machine wanted it to be wrong so they said it was wrong. Ergo, it was wrong. Evidently it worked if you read the posts in this thread.

It's not rocket science is it? Yet simple minds still struggle with the reality.....

They stated that demand for Jeeps in Asia and Australia have gone up and they're reopening the facility to meet those demands. Go away.

How many bike mfgs still make them in the US? Jeep is going to China because of the unreasonable union hacks

Jeeps were produced in China from 1985-2009.
That is 24 years of China production of Jeeps .
If you recall we have been in a worldwide recession. The demand has came back for Jeep thus Chrysler is restarting production.
Chrysler stated this during the time the Romney - Chrysler thing was going on.

This is not and should have never been a political issue.

Saying your grasp of economics is piss-poor would be an understatement.
