I'd say had CC taken Ice Cube's deal, it would have rattled their model. As-is they haven't seen investing more as making sense.

I do think someone will put a bunch into marketing the next few years. If you're not going to go all-in on this opportunity, then you never will. We'll see.

How much did the LiV make when they started paying out billions?

Maybe not a good business model (or maybe it will be long-term?) but there's more than one way to skin a dog. Every tech businessperson knows this. Capture market share while operating in the red, then monetize/profit later.

Not saying that's the case here, just sayin... business cases vary, if it even is a business case for every stakeholder.
