Ranking Vol QB's - Andy Kelly to present day

And yet Coker's stats compare more favorably to Watson's than Martin's do to Manning's but here we are with some people playing the "this player gets ranked higher because of what the team they were on did/didn't do" game.

Taken to it's full extent the "won the championship game" argument would then be simply that every player, regardless of position, on that '98 team would automatically be the best player for that position in the modern era of UT football. It's just silly.

Don’t disagree with your overall point. Been several QB’s on undefeated teams that weren’t great individually. Martin was a good player but doesn’t belong on the top of ANY list because of his skill set.

Playing Colorado with an already difficult schedule was pretty crazy. The Auburn tie and the Alabama loss was senseless.

1. Peyton Manning
2. Casey Clausen
3. Erik Ainge
4. Tee Martin
5. Heath Shuler
6. Andy Kelly
7. Joshua Dobbs
8. Jonathan Crompton
9. Rick Clausen
10. Lucas Taylor

Bray is washed from the record books for being a punk and then losing to UK and ending the streak because he didn't want to practice for the bowl.

Worley was awful and is stricken from the record books as well due to his awefullnessness.

I hate how people give Dobbs so much benefit of the doubt for playing with such terrible teams and coaching yet nobody does the same for Bray.

From a talent perspective, Bray is the best QB we've had since Manning, and some of his numbers argue he was better. With a decent coach or defense we see him very differently. With an elite coach or defense we view him as one of the 2 or 3 best QBs we've ever had, if not the best.

Didn't even see the above post before I put this. Guys like that are 100% proof of how dumb the UT fan base is sometimes. Can't see the forest for the trees. Kiffin is a bad coach, Hurd is a terrible running back, etc. etc. all because things didn't go the way they wanted.

Legions of the miserable indeed.
