Please pray for our Granddaughter

My sweet Grandbaby is getting better every day that goes by. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers. Here is an update from my son and daughter-in-law:

An update from Shawn And Jamie (Makenzie's dad and mom)

Haven't been good at these updates on Kenzie but wanted to try and get a public update out there for everyone checking in on her.
1. Her spirits and energy levels are getting higher everyday. She sees more doctors and specialists a day then I have seen in my life.
2. Her left side leg and arm have some movement but are still limited at this time. She shows lots of improvement each day but has a long road ahead.
3. Sitting up on her own is extremely hard but she keeps trying with our help. She needs someone to hold her up in order to walk but she pushes to keep trying as well.
4. She has been removed from all special equipment and monitors, IV's and feeding tubes, which she would tell you is a huge blessing. She didn't get used to any of them at all.
5. Kenzie, Jamie and I are extremely overwhelmed with the continued outpouring of support from all our family, friends, co-workers, community and doctors from the last 5 days.
6. Some continue to ask how they can help and support and we ask for continued prayers and positive thoughts for her.
7. Also their is a go fund me that was set up in her honor by the wonderful families, teachers and owners of the dance academy she attends in Puyallup.

Thank you all for the prayers, support, and positive thoughts. It truly is appreciated.

Makenzie is now at Seattle Children's hospital and is in good spirits! She is a fighter and with all the prayers she will, as Vol445 said "she has already been healed and you guys will see a full recovery soon". Thank you all and thank the Good Lord! Go Vols!

The healing and recuperative power of children is immense. I believe she will recover and have a very productive life since she has so many people who love her and are willing to help her get better.

Thanks to all for all the thoughts and prayers. Yesterday she had an MRI, and they drew spinal fluid. She had physical, speech and occupational therapy. She has the day off today. She is continuing to improve. Thank you Hman for those encouraging words.

My SIL had a brain aneurysm induced stroke when she was 9. Initial prognosis was that she would never walk or talk again.

She was walking, talking and completely back to normal within a year. As h said, kids are resilient!

Today, she is 42 with 7 kids and mean as a snake.

Praying your granddaughter has a full recovery (without the snake part).

GBO!

I loved reading that. Thank you for that story. I am happy to know she is well and thriving.

I just have to share the news with you folks. Makenzie was showing signs of atrophy in her left hand. The therapists put a glove on her left hand to keep her fingers straight while she slept. Yesterday she had almost unnoticeable movement in her hand; almost undetectable movement. Today she is opening and closing her left hand hand into a fist! Thank you all for the prayers. May God bless you all and thank you Jesus! Mark 11:24

How are things going with her?

She gets a little better every day. She is able to stand for a minute or two, but needs assistance walking, and only does that as part of physical therapy. She is maintaining the movement in her left hand. She can squeeze it but can't open it. Right now she may get to go home from the hospital in a week or two, but will need lots of continuous therapy. We are all continuing to pray for her, and appreciate all the prayers from everyone.

Thank you all again for the prayers. I truly believe we have witnessed another of God's miracles. She had another MRI on Wednesday, and all the swelling in her brain is gone. She went home on Wednesday evening, and her motor skills improve every day. She can now use both hands and walk on her own. So much improvement this fast has amazed us all. Thank you again for the prayers.
