Put him in the HOF if you want, but keep him away from the game. Betting on games that you're managing is about as bad as it gets.
No worse than what Houston did. And the penalties aren't even comparable.

I'm a Reds fan and would support this..he didn't cheat to get the hits but you also can't bet on games you participate in

Unlike steroids, where baseball said it was illegal but had no punishment nor ever pushed for drug testing till congress came after them in 2005, Baseball has explicitly stated since the early 1920’s if you bet on baseball your banned for life. And there is evidence he betted against his teams

Also, Pete Rose is a terrible human being that didn’t apologize until it was time to sell his book. If Pete had been contrite from the get go, then maybe his dumb ass would have been forgiven.

He also lied when he tried to reapply last time.

Which of them lied for 15 years about what they did and then came clean to sell their book?
Yeah... It's not like he's been doing humanitarian work to try and rehab his image. Dude has been doing card shows for the last 30 years.

HOF should include baseball's best players, the ones that defined eras, which certainly applies to both Rose and Bonds. MLB is a terrible organization generally, I don't care how upset they are about broken rules that didn't really harm anyone and that no one actually cares about
