From the reports of the coaches we are interviewing, and different people Hubbs, Vol Colonel, and others saying Gruden is not an option.

But Grude hasn't denied interest? If we did/are interviewing him, why can someone at least write an article saying we did. Most of the fan base doesn't even think we have pursued him at all.

First, thank you all for helping me get through the night last night.

Some of you here are aware that our cat was diagnosed with a tumor a few weeks ago.

She’s been a part of our family for 17 years.

Today, I say goodbye - for a while.

I could use that group hug that was going around a couple of days ago. 😔

Fulmer definitely interviewed Chad Morris of SMU last night in Dallas. That's Morris' second interview with Tennessee. His first with Fulmer.

So Fulmer on Sunday traveled from Knoxville to the state of Georgia where he interviewed Auburn DC Kevin Steele, and Georgia DC Mel Tucker. Then he traveled to Texas to see Morris.

We believed his is in Texas this morning and is likely headed to New York City sometime today for the College Football Hall of Fame. There is a dinner with Peyton Manning tonight which includes his family and some key UT people. Then the induction is Tuesday evening.

Remember, lots of coaches attend this event and Fulmer could do more interviews today before heading to NYC and then some up there while in NYC.

It is interesting how there are two completely different narratives around Gruden. There is no middle ground.

This is what I'm beginning to believe. I don't think Phil cares what the fan base thinks and has no interest in even giving Gruden so much as a courtesy call.
 
As much as everyone hopes, he and the VQ mods are speaking the truth, yes VC comes across as an a-hole but there is no conspiracy, there is not got going to be a Gruden hire.

Sorry to burst bubbles, but yes its fun to believe.

Because so far their record in this search has been stellar. Am I right?

the easy hire here is Les Miles....its better than any other person we could interview other than Gruden. So if Miles would take the Job...then why are we talking to Chad Morris or anyone else? If Gruden is out....and I would like to think that someone knows the answer to that question by now....then hire Miles and lets end this thing!

I don't think expediency is in the best long term interest...

lets stick with the Fulmer is interviewing Grudens possible staff thought process. That one makes me happier.

I believe it was Will Rogers who said "If dogs don't go to heaven then I want to go where they go".....I believe we'll meet our pets, dogs and cats, etc...at the Rainbow bridge..We lost our cat of 17yrs a few years ago and one of the smartest dogs I've ever owned last year....still brings tears to my eyes...Grieve, rest, and they go get another cat....prayers to you..
 
Yea, just a wondering if, when or how Haslam would make his next move.

yeah, one would hope/think they might have thought about the real ramification of doing what they did. how much insulation does Fulmer have...really? and how willing would haslam be to tear it all down, and really watch it burn, just b/c he didn't get his way.........

my gut says nothing much happens. but what do i know, i'm not a billionaire.:eek:lol:

I'm here. I was confident in a Tuesday meeting...that hasn't changed, except to say that it may have moved up based upon yesterday's secretive movements by Fulmer.

I'm happy...no predictions, but it looks like things are progressing.

*Edit: I don't put a lot of stock in Hubbs/VQ account of yesterday's itinerary.

I think people deep down know that Fulmer probably gonna hire Les. Matches the criteria that he stated in the presser. Would be my fall back plan but Fulmer knows him well and if Les bring in a staff that Fulmer is comfortable with, then it’s likely.

I’m not happy to see us going back to Morris. Was hoping we were in with better coaches

eh, i think he's be a little foolish not to go back and speak to some of the guys that went thru that last week, if nothing else but to get input. and who knows, maybe a situation change, changes a candidates perception.

Chad Morris wouldn't be a sexy hire, and i'm sure the torch and pitchfork crowd would be out.......maybe rightfully so.

but Morris isn't a bad coach at all. he probably jumped at a job he shouldn't have. he's basically devalued himself. he was really good at Clemson, and his players loved him.

all that said, i still think there are options. how many and to what extent, dunno. but if was willing to go out on a limb with Morris, i'd be also willing to take that same chance on Leach, Venebles, or a Miles/Marton combo.
