Most telling thing I’ve seen

That was my question. Good on Maurer for being like that regardless. But if JG were a captain for the game he would have already been on the field.

That said, I still go back to when Jones was doing everything he could to give the job to JG over Dormady. Some of the player interviews were predictably neutral. Those that weren't... pointed toward Dormady as the guy the players wanted. Kelly hardly hid his preference at all.

Whoa now. I remember people saying Dormady was only playing because he was dating butch's god daughter. Jones did everything he could not to play JG... but maybe he was right all along?

I think a lot of the players are tired of JG's crap.

Just based on the way they played on the field, I imagine so. Think about it on offense. You know your guy can't make throws to you when you're wide open half of the time, why try as hard, especially down 3 scores? It's probably even worse on defense. You know you'll be run ragged by the start of the second half because you'll spend far more time on the field today than your offense. Why would you play hard knowing the same thing is going to happen over and over?

Wrong... DEAD wrong.

Jones very obviously wanted JG to win that competition. Simply put... he saw the two throw the ball and thought JG had the higher potential. The fly in the ointment was that QD made the right reads and throws. The team apparently responded to him better. Jones kept the "competition" open until he found a reason to name JG the starter... then suddenly there was no more competition.

Jones had a 20 year or so relationship with JG's father... probably a little more significant in football terms than QD dating his goddaughter.

I'd be surprised if it was that personal. Maybe it is?

My guess is that his lack of confidence and his personality combine to make him an ineffective leader in addition to his decision making issues. Without being inside we can't know for sure but he kind of acts like a loner. I kind of wondered about his relationship with team mates when a fluff piece came out over the summer about him taking the OL for ice cream or something like that. Why did a RS Jr need to buy his OL ice cream to build a relationship with them? Why wasn't he the established ring leader already?

Couple that with when Maurer went into the game, everyone looked like they played harder. He took control of the team, the receivers were slapping his helmet. Everything you want to see when the team is behind their QB.

I think Pruitt is losing the team because he is refusing to bench JG even tho Ray Charles could see he sucks. The team knows they can’t win with JG playing.

😂😂😂

Yeah they played much harder. Didn’t result in much, but then again they played him like two sets of downs.

I don't think that necessarily means it's personal, as much as it means they're tired of knowing exactly what's about to happen with him when they take the field.

Can someone post this picture? There apparently is a picture of Brian Maurer out front of the team getting them up while JG was in the back

According to the tweet, it looks like it's #18's team. Start Maurer from here on and see what happens. I think JG has checked out and he's not mentally coming back. Screenshot_20190927-122546_Firefox.jpg

I noticed that when they play at home too. They don't look fired up to be running out onto the field. Just jogging lethargically like, "Okay let's get this over with."

Show some pride, jump around, pump the crowd up, do anything. Just show some emotion.
Team needs a Haka.

To me... They looked about as FLAT as a team about to take the field as I've EVER seen. They practically had to be TOLD to RUN on the field.

Pitiful. This is complete loser body language. If I saw nothing but that video before kickoff... I'd bet the house that they lose. And lose BIG.

Wow, telling. They definitely don't look like a team that thinks or appears is going to beat the hail out of somebody.

Flag and Smokey always lead them out. No cheerleaders, general announcements coming over the PA, no boo from the home crowd. I could be wrong, but that just doesn't look like pre-game.
Maybe its just me but I can't ever remember the flag people escorting the team out of the tunnel after the half...Ever...Usually they just run out and begin the half.

No band on the field. Crowd is dead. Pruitt talking to a sideline reporter.

Save the forensic analysis....This isn't the entrance, it's walking out of the locker room after the half.

That seems more likely and would explain it. It would also go to show people can make anything look like they want for their benefit. This is why the media is not trusted today.
