We've had a lot of discussion, handwringing, optimism, and pessimism over the D. But the most important stat of all... is one they're looking better at and are likely to improve over the rest of the season- scoring D.
UT is currently 4th in the SEC with 21.0 ppg allowed. UK is 3rd with 19.9. UGA and Bama lead with 10.5 and 16.6 respectively. (If I am not mistaken Bama would actually be leading if not for the UT game).
After UGA, the season "balances out" in terms of the quality of O's UT plays. They play USCe, Mizzou, and Vandy. There is a very good chance if not a likelihood that UT will finish the season allowing under 20 ppg... that's better than Bama did last year.
