It's less, but Tatum signed for the max allowable and will again when it's his turn. It's about timing in an ever-escalating max salary world. Remember when Mike Conley had the biggest contract in NBA history and and had never been to an all-star game?

I was thinking of the same example. It's just good timing for Brown.
