Iowa's Schedule...

It will never be "cyclical" as a division. The east has always been top heavy. It will continue to be. Missouri, Vandy, Kentucky, SC, doesn't have the football DNA to challenge the top tier for more than 5 minutes.

I didn't say cyclical as a division, I said in terms who which division was the dominant one. The East when good has 3 football powers, TN, Fla and Ga. The West has 3 in Ala, Aub and LSU. You may can add A'M too. But wouldn't put Ole Miss, Miss St and Ark as far superiors to S.Car, Mizzou, UK and Vandy when challenging top tier teams. But my point was that one conference dominating the other has been cyclical and will always be till it changes.

I'm sure it is. All things change in time. This week alone concerning conference grad transfers, the few telling the many what to do may be going the way of the Dodo bird.

Maybe sitting around waiting for the old codgers on the BOTs to finally give up the ghost doesn't sound like a great gameplan anymore.

If kids wanna transfer, then who should have the right to tell them where they can or can't go if they've graduated? Coach's don't get told where they can and can't coach at.When quitting a job our former employer doesn't get to dictate who you can or can't go work for. What's the difference in getting a grad transfer from Oregon St and one from a rival? If one player transferring to your rival is the difference between winning and losing, then there's bigger issues than one transfer. You wouldn't want someone having say over your future so why should anyone have say over where they transfer.

There's a difference between stupid grad transfer rules and getting rid of a long-standing rivalry game that both schools seemingly want to keep, even if that game hasn't been competitive in a decade.

The last year Tennessee and Alabama didn't play each other was 1943, and the only notable gap of time in the rivalry where no game was played was 1914 - 1928. So for all intents and purposes the game has "always" been played in the minds of the fans; it isn't a recent "tradition." Hard to get rid of.

Frankly, the rivalry meant a lot more to coach Bryant than coach Saban and this generation of fans. Without a doubt, the LSU game became far more important and pressing to Bama fans the moment coach Saban arrived. When we played them for the NC the rivalry went nuclear. Things could change somewhat if Pruitt can have any success, but it's the WEST these days that has to be won to get to the promised land.

Some employers actually do have a no compete clause in the contract, meaning that you can't quit and go to work for one of their major competitors.

In a perfect world, at least one that can read a map, the barn should be in the east and then you can send that sorry Missouri bunch to the West. Amazing to think that by doing the geographically right thing, we've also managed to do the right cyclical thing. Silly SEC.

In a perfect world, TXAM and Mizzou have absolutely no place or business in the "Southeastern Conference".

Adding Auburn to the east and Missouri to the west would make sense

UF played them every year for most of my life then since realignment only once

Also has Bama played Georgia in reg season since that 08 game?

Scheduling sucks seems like everybody could play everybody every 4 years or so

Bama played at UGA in 2015.

Everyone could play everyone every 3 years if we had a 9 game conference schedule. Alas, Bama was the only school that supported it.
