FWIW, one analyst's opinion...

A closer look at the numbers show...that Tennessee is better off giving the ball to Kamara and Kelly than it is putting it in Hurd’s hands. With Kamara out this week against South Carolina (and possibly next week) with a knee injury, the Volunteers would be better served letting Kelly take on more of a workload than he has so far. And when Kamara comes back, he has shown he deserves the lion’s share of the carries.

Hurd has 114 carries for 435 yards this year, giving him an unimpressive 3.8 yards per carry — 151st out of 182 qualified rushers — and below the national average of 4.55. Twenty-two of his 114 carries (19.3%) have been for no gain or a loss while...10 have been for 10 yards or more, 8.8% of his carries, which is well below the national average of 14.1%. That has translated to -22.81 rush EPA (Expected Points Added), the 12th-worst out of 1,952 rushers this season. Essentially, handing Hurd the ball has cost the Volunteers 23 points this season.
Even without Kamara, Vols better off feeding Kelly — not Hurd

Just read that....not sure I buy the fact that Hurd has cost us 23 points this season...but it is on the internet.

This offense is too complicated

Alabama beat the **** out of us in the trenches where it matters. Butch is going to have to get a new OL coach in Knoxville and start recruiting better on the OL

That article is a bunch of statistical taurus fecundum!!!!

Statistics are ALWAYS for those pencil-necked geeks who do not know how to actually watch a game and understand what is happening on the field....

The breaking point for me was the statement that:

"...handing the ball to HURD has cost UT 23 points this year...."

Absolute and moronic crap of the worst kind......

Just bench Hurd. He obviously sucks and has done nothing fir Tennessee. He has cost us tons of points while contributing little to nothing positive. Just play Kelly and CFA and AK when he comes back.







For those whose sarcasm meter is as bad as mine is, this is 100% blue font material.
