Yeah, they do a poor job ranking the girls. Not a lot of resources are devoted to scouting them.
The coaching they get in high school is also not always as good as what the guys get so there is more of a chance they can blossom at the next level.
This is where the fact that our recruiting budget is several times as large as most programs should really give us an advantage.

I don't know exactly what these numbers mean but you can probably thank Dave Hart for this. When he became the athletic director his number one goal was to get the athletic department budget in line and part of that was to cut spending on women's basketball and to also skimp on men's basketball.
