That top 10 makes a lot of sense actually. Those are all very northern states, too much cold weather and not enough getting outside.

Sadly, those other cities in TN makes the list for other substances.

So if a guy said he had 5 or more drinks at one time in the last 30 days that checks the box for excessive drinking. So bowl for 3 hours and have five beers, you’re a drunk.

Also science:

just one of the 20 cities with the highest excessive drinking rates is home to a larger share of adults in fair or poor health than the 16.0% national average. Meanwhile, 16 of the 20 cities with the lowest excessive drinking rates are home to a larger than typical share of adults in sub-optimal health.

Yea, I've got "restaurant stories" that leave zero doubt in my mind Wisconsin holds the trophy.

Surprised Florida wasn't in the top 5, if for no other reason than we fill up with "Wisconsinites" every winter.

If I lived in Cali, I'd stay perpetually drunk in order to deal with the traffic.

And parking depending where you live. When I lived in SF if I were having more than the usual difficulty finding a spot, I would park in front of our building and put on the hazards as if I were unloading groceries and have a glass of wine to chill before resuming the search.

Knoxville is #12 among the driest? Never been there on game day is right... never been to my house any time of the year.
