DOJ recovers missing text messages between anti-Trump FBI agents Strzok and Page

Absurd. It shows that Strzok and Page didn't like Trump (shudder!)... but Strzok was removed from the Mueller investigation as soon as this was revealed last summer and he was only serving in a menial capacity to begin with.

Outside of that, there is the fact that Andrew McCabe's wife is a Democrat. That doesn't necessarily reveal anything about him or whether or not he can do his job professionally. He was not a member of Mueller's investigation.

The deputy head of counter intelligence doesn't play a menial role.

Wouldn't one have to make the assumption that they are acting against trump because he's whatever political party they are not?

I think they just thought he was a moron which again, puts them inline with reasonable people.

Well he is either an innocent moron or a criminal genius. I'd figure it wouldn't take long to nail a moron.

Exactly. More than anything else, Strzok and Page were just making fun of Trump. Now, should they have been doing that on FBI issued phones? Of course not. It was unprofessional. So was their affair but Strzok was removed from the investigation.

Yeah, no.

As a former LEO, you never ever want your personal opinions out during an investigation. Ever. Such things, even if it's a minor portion, can taint the whole investigation.

Hasn't investigators personal biases been used to overturn convictions?

I don't think reasonable doubt applies in civil cases, preponderance of evidence rings a bell. I also recall reading somewhere that a person doesn't even have to have actually obstructed justice to be convicted, only that they endeavored to.

Any lawyers in here know bout this?

Edit, would this be a civil or criminal matter? It may be criminal - in which case you'd be right.

I don't know because IANAL.

There's going to have to be a smoking gun for anything to come of this. Mueller knows this.

It's a different time GV. Times used to be that a Navy SEAL wouldn't have ever talked about shooting UBL.

Unless you have video of Dahmer grilling the lungs of his victim on his Weber.

Trump is the kind of guy who would tweet about how tasty it was.

So, we can look at this another way. if there are pro Trump folks in the FBI or DOJ or Special Counsel's office, would they be inclined to bias any investigation toward democrats or to favor Trump?

Fact is that everyone holds some bias. It's whether you allow that to affect how you perform your job that's the question. If there's evidence that these two influenced the investigation in a meaningfully biased way, they should be held accountable. If they just despise Trump and liked to chat about it, that puts them on par with the majority of the American people, given recent job approval data.

On both sides. That is why I'm convinced the Muller investigation is just political theater designed to cripple the administration.

So what is he? An innocent moron or criminal genius? Both he and his companies have been audited by the IRS numerous times, no money laundering accusations, no improprieties, nothing. When 5 of his properties filed bankruptcy and the finances had to be examined by the courts, nothing. How does a moron get away with it all?

Why has it taken a smart guy like Muller and his crack team of brilliant prosecutors so long to nail this moron?

Don't tell BB that. He's practically frothing at the mouth for them to find anything on Trump and he doesn't care how they did it.

Of course, being a Democratic supporter, he's probably used to seeing people not follow the law.

That last sentence....Ouch, says BB.

Sure, but coming to that conclusion after the fact is a bit disingenuous if being used as the reason for the firing.

You're assuming Trump didn't know. He's the one that Tweeted the fact that Obama was wiretapping him. If that is in fact the case, and Comey was knee deep in that corruption, we can't assume that Trump didn't know Comey's involvement as well.

Let's see where they were meeting.

PS, if it is never proven that there were meetings of a secret society, and no confidential informant saying that, then this Senator deserves to be impeached, forthwith.
Using this logic....
So if all the crap against Trump is proven to be BS, then MSNBC, CNN, ABC, and NBC should fold up.

Was wondering the same? What else could be left in this investigation? Either Mueller's got Trump and he's letting him in twist in the wind till he ties up some minor loose ends OR he has run into an issue during the investigation that taints the integrity of his own FBI.

Which any two bit lawyer can have each and every "fact" they uncovered tossed out of court because of that. If the investigators are not impartial and unbiased even with personal opinions (which aren't so personal any more), a lawyer would have a field day with that.

A fact LG refuses to address because he knows it's true.

Ask him if he'd rather be on the defense or the prosecution of an LEO that has their personal opinions and prejudices come to light in a trial.

The facts aren't excluded. The defendant just gets to defend on the basis that the facts aren't true.

Now, let's say Trump were to be tried on money laundering charges. His lawyers could mount a defense that the facts tendered by the prosecution are not true based on a biased investigation. The jury can agree, or reject it.

I'd love to see Trump defend such a charge on that basis. Would be VERY entertaining.

Wanting to interview Trump is the signal that he's basically done. No way to know what he has. So he will give Trump a chance to TRUTHFULLY explain things.

Hahahahahahahahaha...hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
