Tyler Bray has had a substantially easier path to the money…9 seasons, 4.3 million total earnings….6 career passes, 2 completions…right at half a million a year to practice and ride the pine
You know that amount will only buy so much beer don't you.

Dobbs with 45 passing yards in the league.
Josh EZ money Dobbs. 😁
Tyler Bray was cut by the 49ers Practice Squad. He rode the bench and hung out on practice squads in San Francisco, Chicago, and Kansas City.

CBA Active roster league minimum salary & practice squad pay he has made somewhere close to $5,000,000.00.

I'm surprised Bray never got more opportunities to play. The guy can wing the ball. His lack of mobility is/was a problem, to be sure--but what does Mitch Trubisky have, for example that Bray doesn't--besides a bigger bank account? Not much, if anything. True, Trubisky hasn't been very good--but he was a very high draft pick and has played a lot. It's odd that some backups/practice-squad players never get much of a chance to play given how many teams are annually dissastified with their QB play. There are always a bunch of mediocre QBs getting starts.

The all time winners in this category for VFLs are Pat Ryan and Bobby Scott. Scott did 10 years with the Saints backing up Archie Manning and then one year in the USFL. Ryan did 14 years with the Jets and the Eagles.

There was one year when Manning hurt his shoulder early in the season and Scott was going to have the starting job for most of the season. Before his first start of the year he's walking out on the field, trips over a television cable and wrecks his knee thereby missing the rest of the season.

Favorite factoid about Scott was he used his signing bonus to buy his favorite "hole in the wall" beer only bar, the Cumberland Tap Room. It was where the Sunspot is now. Had one pinball machine, a juke box and the nastiest men's room in Knoxville. In the off season he would sit out at the bar poring beer for the customers.

Can't believe I missed the spelling on Pouring" not poring.

Backup QB in the NFL has to be the best millionaire job on the planet. Dobbs 2021 contract with the Steelers ended up being just over $1M per year. You get to stay in shape, practice and talk football with some of the greatest players/coaches on the planet, and still go to all of the players only events and stuff.

Not to mention super model wife, off 6 months of the year if you’re playing for the Browns or Jags. Perks are endless
