DC Prediction and Sources Thread

"As I posted since early Monday, UT has been in contact with Shannon for about a month. Looks like it could be announced this week. Shannon wants a lot, but he commands a lot. IMHO he'll fit in real well with the VFL part of the program. So that's it. I THINK it will/should be announced by Friday due to us having a few visitors this weekend.

Problems arose over details and terms...AND other teams coming calling. Plus Shannon has shown no problem walking away from the table if he's not assured on every last detail (see Arky). I think, but have not been told, that UT contacted Shannon right before the "deal" with Arky when Wilcox was floated for ASU.

I have posted a lot of hints and stuff about this Monday/Tuesday. This will be my last one until it's announced."

"I posted last night that I am close to someone at GMC & who knows McCullers personally. I got a call from him yesterday telling me McCullers is a Vol.

He just called me back & said Shannon is the DC & Dooley said that to McCullers. McCullers may go public tomorrow along w/ the hiring of Shannon."

Randy Shannon will be the new DC

- He is brining Barrow with him

- Pender and Diggs are Vols

- As some have posted, McCullers and Borque are Vols

Other stuff:

- There is some worry about Pig, but Joseph and Thompson will talk to him after the UA game and the feeling is Tennessee should be fine there

- Santos and Peters will remain Vols

- Joseph to TE/ST(don't know who will coach db's)

Feel free to add to the list anyone I have missed. I will update this post if anybody wants to add. Also, those with "sources" feel free to add your own name.

Mods - hope this is alright. I really just want a record of who was saying what based on what source. For all the rumors and sources flying around, it would be good to get it on record who actually said what.

I like this approach, cause there are alot of rumors out there and people blowing smoke. This will help us know who is actually close to the fire and real answers. Now, my overall preference is RS joining our staff. I believe it would benefit our team, and recruiting the most. Next season will be special and would be real special with a proven- Home Run DC at the helm. I just hope it is true and that they would announce immediately. This would help to stabilize recruiting(those committed & those considering), our current team players, staff and my nerves...Go Vols!!!

I actually have a lot of insight on this, as Randy Shannon, Kevin Steele and I were all at the same Walmart once. They've told me that they're both going to be the defensive coordinator. They're also recruiting a few yeti's and gorillas to play on defense. AD Hart is tha MANNNNNNN!!!! Great hires!

If predictions are based on contract negotiations, could both coaches not be going through that process? Thus, their info may be OK - just misinterpreted with regard to it meaning the coach is definitely the final choice. Or, is entering into negotiations with both a no-no from a contractual good faith standpoint?

I realize what I posted. Skeet has the same info I posted re: RS being Hart's top
choice and KS being Dooley's.
