Buying a Beach Condo - Tips?

We had the big ass pretzel there and thought it was pretty damn good :)

That is pretty good, hanging off the huge hook. I guess it isn't terrible as much as it is "the usual" from franchise restaurants. With the exception of the beer selection, 40+ taps and 500+ bottles, nuff said.

you must have seen a picture of me recently.

Gotta cut back on the trips to the Donut Hole too!

Bringing the family down the week of 7/16-7/23.

Thanks to all for the recommendations in the thread

Staying on Scenic 98 not too awfully far from that Wine World. I'll have to check out the burger at Craft Bar.

For anyone down there now or soon - Wine World has 1.75s of Makers for 44 bucks (59 around here) and 1.75s of Crown for 35.

As always, Winn Dixie has good deals and the 10% discount when you buy 4 (mix and match) and gas discounts.

Yup, that's the one lol. We didn't really dive into the menu as far as food, but the beer list was impressive. They also did a lot of "infusion" beers, which were fairly decent.

So as someone whose kids always want to play in the water a lot, is this something that I should freak out about?

Florida Healthy Beaches Program | Florida Department of Health

Health Implications

Enterococci are enteric bacteria that normally inhabit the intestinal tract of humans and animals. The presence of enteric bacteria can be an indication of fecal pollution, which may come from stormwater runoff, pets and wildlife, and human sewage. If they are present in high concentrations in recreational waters and are ingested while swimming or enter the skin through a cut or sore, they may cause human disease, infections or rashes.

Enterococci

The statewide testing program tests for enterococci, which theUnited States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) opens in new window has recommended states adopt as a saltwater quality indicator. According to studies conducted by the EPA, enterococci have a greater correlation with swimming-associated gastrointestinal illness in both marine and fresh waters than other bacterial indicator organisms, and are less likely to "die off" in saltwater. If an enterococci result were observed to exceed 70 colony forming units per 100 milliliters of beach water sampled and a resampling result also exceeds this value, then an "Advisory" would be issued for the sampling site.

Florida Healthy Beaches Program Categories are:

Good = 0-35 Enterococci per 100 milliliters of marine water

Moderate = 36-70 Enterococci per 100 milliliters of marine water

Poor = 71 or greater Enterococci per 100 milliliters of marine water

Did you happen to notice what a 1.75 of Jameson's went for?

Another good place to eat is "The Bay". Its a little out of the way, but worth the drive IMO. I've been twice and both times were fantastic and they have a small local craft brew selection. It is on the island side of the HWY 331 bridge, about a 25 minute drive from Destin commons. Best way to get there is to head towards PCB from Destin down 98. Turn left onto 331 and it is on your right as soon as you get to the bridge, dont go over the bridge.

Got back from Destin Sat. Had a great time. The water was nice. We ate at the Crab Trap, Louisiana Lagniappe, and Busters (for the oysters).

Good times.
