Here is another guy who could have made us an offensive juggernaut, something the SEC is lacking. Something that is needed to beat those other teams who have great defenses and OK offenses. I'll bet Shoop wasn't in the conversation just like the other guy. How in the world did he end up at Mississippi State? Anybody know? It had to be out there he was shopping.

Instead we are going to try to join the other SEC teams with first rate defenses. So we just want to be top tier SEC and not the champion in my opinion. I think this decision to ignore offense by Fulmer will weigh heavily on his Tennessee legacy.

I would think all buyouts are mitigated by future work.

I doubt they are going to pay him >=$1.15 million/year, so we'll be on the hook for some of his buyout on the last year of his contract.
