Stop designing dogs.

Where do you think all the breeds came from? It's a good thing to cross breed and introduce new genepools (breeds) with desirable characteristics and breed out bad characteristics. For example, because poodles shed very little crossing them with other breeds gets you a great dog for appartment dwellers. Crossing a Beagle with a Foxhound gets you a Harrier, a great dog for rabbit hunting.

Mixed breeds may have fewer cases of 10 or so specific genetic maladys than purebred, but not to the point breeding should be considered a bad thing as so many want us to believe that would have everyone adopt a Heinz 57 pound pup. Folk should be able to get what suits them.
