His point was that “if arguing were imprisonment” makes way less sense than “if arguing were a crime,” and you’ve missed said point like 5 straight times now

Now, as for my comment, it makes perfect contextual sense. Read it until you figure it out, or just keep moving the goalposts, like your girlfriend.

“Serving a life sentence because of imprisonment” or “for committing imprisonment” does not make sense grammatically. Butchering a saying, and then claiming everyone else is at fault for pointing it out, reflects more on you than it does on them.
