Any update/timeline for Paulk?

Butch can be "roasted" til the cows come home and keep his job as long as he is winning. If he believes that Paulk will help win a game or 2, he should reinstate him. Hell, Bill Clinton was ACCUSED of raping and assaulting more than a few women and he remained POTUS. Paulk is an 18-19 year old kid ACCUSED of assault with no charges. He should be punished, but should the punishment be getting kicked off the team because a few tongue wagers object? Sports, politics and society as a whole has many who have done much worse than Paulk and are allowed to perform and flourish. Winston, Newton, A Rod, Vick , Pac Man Jones...........on and on. If you want to practice self flagulation and lose games. Go ahead. The Sabans, Jimbos, etal will be laughing at us all the way to the bank and national championships.

Don't think there's a chance in hell Paulk ever comes back to this team. Maybe he'll get a second chance somewhere else. But he beat the crap out of a woman in front of a score of witnesses. With all the grief the NFL has had to deal over domestic violence in the past couple of years, and that scrutiny already spreading to the college ranks, he could be the second coming of Herschel Walker and he'd still be too much of a liability. On top of which, as Huntland points out above, Butch knows he's already riding along not far from the edge of a public relations cliff with AJ, Von, et al; not the time to add to the pile.

Bottom line: think the chance he rejoins the team is about roughly approximately in the neighborhood of zero.

Oh for crying out loud, Paulk isn't even claiming he didn't do it. He hit his girlfriend in front of a room full of witnesses. The only place you'll find anyone idiotic enough to claim that he could possibly be innocent is on this board. It's just sad.

Also, will you people ever stop inflating the game changing abilities of anyone who isn't currently playing for us? Let's have some reality here. This guy was always going to be a back-up. Depth is great, but a back-up is a back-up. Think about it - Marlin Lane was a senior last year, he had started games, he had many more carries than Paulk was ever likely to see. Did you ever honestly think last year, "well if we didn't have Marlin Lane we probably would have lost that game"? No, of course not. And Paulk would have in all likelihood been even less of a contributor than Lane.
