It certainly can be. Depends on what you pay, and for what.

Mine have generated a tremendous return on investment, and I would not be where I am today without them.

Same is true for millions of other Americans.
Unfortunately, there are millions holding worthless paper too.

My college degree has as well…. It was still a scam…. Having to take a bunch of classes that have absolutely nothing to do with my field of study…. They need to revamp the entire system.

It’s more than just a knowledge transfer. It’s a proving ground, too.

My Political Science degree really paid for itself. Of couse a semester was only like 1500 then.
Really just a pathetic degree, but any degree back then opended doors for entry levels in many areas. That is the thing…get in a field at entry level and excel, but the market is now flooded. I think many just expect too much too soon but I can certainly see how the high cost and not progressing quickly can set one back in paying a loan these days, and a different game.

The costs are as much or more of a problem imo. When your professor in these general studies is making much more than one can make outside of the academic field, it is a scam.

What has all that education taught me? Intellectual humility! The more I learn the more I realize how much I don’t know.

Typically, I do not like Steven A. Smith as I think he's a complete and utter douche, but he's been making a lot of sense lately as he's not taking the a-hole stance on a lot of things.

I do like his podcast as he asks the hard questions and is open to rebuttal from those he's interviewing. I watched the complete interview he did with Byron Daniels and was very impressed. He's not playing the "I think you're wrong because I think you're wrong" game a lot do. He freely admits when he doesn't know something. He also might not agree with you, but he does it in a respectful manner and, again, admits when he's not knowledgeable of something.

It's worth watching.
