Apparently this kid hasn't played a varsity snap yet because of a transfer stipulation, but he had a strong showing at the Opening in Columbus and has been upgraded to a 4-star. Tennessee needs to make a strong push for this kid.

Smith is #1 and likely Mckenzie on board as well making another Tackle a low priority.

Started working with Tiny Richardson last spring to help get in shape and learn the position. Props to Buck Fitzgerald for getting him into football. Buck said this about the kid back in June;

Buck likes him? That should convince anyone.

Even if TN wants this kid, his good remarks about UT not withstanding, he might be a tough pull for us. According to his remarks yesterday about his closeness to Max Wray and JaCoby Stevens, he stated that he feels a strong UGA pull. He said GA is recruiting him heavily. His remarks were cited on Bleacher Report.

While he is ver close to Wray that will hv no bearing in his final decision Big O cm here as a basketball player was advised by Buck to try football. Kid has a great upside and will likely be a top 10 NFL pick after college. Right now he's all over the place in recruiting depends on the day of the week. I'm telling you guys UT is in the race but kids simply don't relate to Mahoney and imo UT would benefit by just saying CMD is OC/OL coach and utilize that spot for a coach of need qb coach or something of that nature.

That's fine. We should be in the business of taking 3-4 tackles a year anyway. Most teams don't really recruit many guards

Eugene Parker saw the kid as has a few other guys we know in the business. Every last one of them has said based on what they saw and his ability to learn fast, long atms, and athleticism they think he'll easily be too 10 based on the last 5 yrs. Another said based on the Titans pks he has better athleticism and footwork than either top pk at OT right now. He's been to Rivals camps and dominated every time, went to the Open and dominated, just watch hes done done this in 2 yrs or less and never played the gm before coming to us.

The younger McKenzie is a litle leas polish than Kahlil was. But I'm pretty sure he'll be at UT also. But he's not a higher priority the O is for UT.

Only so much money to go around. Upgrade highly there, and everyone gets pay raises. Butch trusts his guys, but as we saw with Shoop, if there is a clear upgrade, he will take it
