Being divisive and socialistic in policy (see the farmer bailout) .... while "dumbing down" the population may have started with Obama, but it sure as hell didn't stop when Trump took office. The cognitive dissonance among the MAGA crowd never ceases to amaze.

I think Trump has done himself a lot of good by not talking about being cheated in 2020 anymore. Someone in his campaign has obviously stressed that to him, and for once, he has taken some good advice.

Doubtful. There was an episode called "Fred" in which Laura brought home a goat that wound up being very destructive around the farm - pretty much eating everything in sight .... but Charles couldn't bring himself to shoot Fred (like Noem apparently shot her goat.) Charles was a pretty good dude.

All I will say is that was definitely not the case in 2022. Fox News predicted a "red tsunami."

I will say that the polls were off in the 2022 midterms .... and in nearly every case, it was to the benefit of the Republican candidate. That red wave simply didn't happen. However, for the most part, I do trust polling data.

Some of them don't post here any more. I remember a guy with the handle @1972 Grad who insisted right up until the Democratic National Convention that Joe Biden wouldn't even be the party nominee .... and then it was he wouldn't debate .... and then it was that the polls were way off and Trump...

It's fair to say that Trump has a lead .... but it's anything but insurmountable. 7 of the most recent 9 polls on Real Clear Polling either have a tie or they are within their margin of error. The average among these 9 polls shows Trump with a 1 point lead...
