Slow down and read more carefully please. Note that you used the past tense “was hated” while I used the present tense “IS celebrated”. The two statements are not contradictory as we are talking about two different things. No one disputes that he was deeply hated at the time (and still is among a few remaining Neanderthal throwbacks). But my point is that his steadfast commitment to non violence slowly overcome the hate and revealed the true noble character of the man. I see no one advocating for the Palestinian cause who will someday be across the same respect by history .
That was my only real point. The Palestinian people need an MLK, not mouthpieces who celebrate Hamas killers paragliding into music concerts and butchering innocent teenagers.
If you wear Hamas swag while chanting Hamas slogans, you are celebrating violence. I don’t see any rational counter argument to that statement.
If you wore a Swastika in the west during WWII, you were de facto celebrating the Nazi horrors. Same thing applies today.

I would argue France is our greatest and most historical ally. They helped us get Independence, gave us the Statute of Liberty, and have been on the same side as us in most wars.

Sure, they shoot us down a lot but sometimes that is in our best interest.

UK is definitely up there to. Frankly, I see more of an Anglo-world arising with UK, Canada, USA, Australia, and New Zealand all forming a pact someday (South Africa was once a part of it but seems to be a mix bag today. I think they could join it).

You are right that a lot of nations come off more as dependents including pretty much all of NATO, South Korea, Kuwait, Israel, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, Liberia, etc.

That’s the thing I don’t understand about all the incomprehensible claims that Israel is somehow committing “genocide” in Gaza. If Israel truly wanted to produce a genocide, they could easily pull that off with carpet bombing and settle the whole thing in 2 hours with no risk at all to their own soldiers. That would have happened in the past when Israel was attacked but the rest of the world (us) wouldn’t mind their own business. People still bitch about Israel not giving back the staging ground they were attacked from.

When this is over there will be no Gaza Strip and there will likely be no West Bank.

And that is true in the same way that God Himself is an irritant to people much of the time, even those who follow Him.
God loves us too much to let us just continue along in our own ways on a path that is self destructive. Tough love originated in the Garden of Eden. It reached its ultimate manifestation on the Cross when Christ chose to suffer in our place. But even today, God sends us wake-up calls when we need them. I am thankful he didn’t allow me to stay the way I used to be. And I know He still has a lot more work to do on me.
But the Jewish people have always been an irritatant because they represent God, however imperfectly they do it. They are a constant reminder to mankind that God is real and He is sovereign. Man wants to rule things and any reminder that he doesn’t get to is indeed a pebble in your sandal.

So I read something interesting the other day about UK and the EU. When the UK joined the European Union, it actually harmed their relationship both economic and politically with Canada, Australia, and other Commonwealth Nations (even India). UK is a unique European nation, in that they have a lot of nations around the world that are basically offshoots of their culture or heavily impacted by their culture that they can dial into and grow economically.

We have gave money and weapons to Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and other Egypt so I would say yes.

However, I am talking specifically about these protesters and the people that support them. They whine about Palestine but ignore the other people that I listed. It seems to be more Pro-Islamic than it is about helping a minority that is in trouble.

The lesson that I take out is that if the Civilization is Christian or Western, we don't care if they get oppressed. It is a double-standard.

Yup. To me it is one of the strongest buttresses of my faith. I break it into three parts that I think you absolutely nailed 1) a small tiny group of wandering desert nomads still exists as a distinct and readily identifiable people 3500 years later. 2) for some reason inexplicable to basic logic; in every generation that people have been the direct object of irrational hatred and fear by the most powerful nations in the world. And 3) those powerful nations have directed their strongest efforts to totally obliterating that people for the past 3500 years; but always failing. Any one of the three is inexplicable from a human standpoint. Taken together, it is nothing short of miraculous. It’s about the same as if a small tribe of Scandinavian reindeer herders had struck around and still had their own nation after all of Europe had constantly tried to eliminate them ever since before even the Greek civilization began.
