Who knows? And it was so long ago.
My earlier point was simply that Rome, as is typical of sports "reporters," does not challenge his athlete and coaching guests when he interviews them. Its more of a marketing opportunity for the guests than it is an actual exploration of news or investigation of controversy.
The problem seems to be that any reporter who does ask the tough questions just doesn't get any more interviews. I really think that if some young knowledgeable guy came along and interviewed people on air and did ask tough questions and built his reputation on challenging them, then in time he would rise to the top and be real popular among fans who want more than the usual drivel, coach speak, wait till next year, everything is great, respect the other team, kind of nonsense.
Is it just me, or does it almost seem like a rehearsed dialogue where the questions are known before the show starts?
