One name that has recently created a lot of buzz in recruiting circles is offensive lineman Kyler Kerbyson from Knoxville Catholic High School. At 6-foot-5, 290 pounds, some consider Kerbyson to be a prototypical offensive lineman.

Today, Kerbyson received a scholarship offer from Tennessee.

“I talked to Coach Dooley today actually,” Kerbyson said. “That was the first time I actually talked to any of the Tennessee coaches.“

“He was just letting me know that I got an offer and he wanted to talk to me a little more on Junior Day.“

Kerbyson just returned from Clemson and with today’s Tennessee offer, the talented lineman has now collected a total of four scholarship offers.

“I went to Clemson’s Junior Day this past weekend,” Kerbyson said. “I’ve had Duke, Vandy, Arkansas, and Tennessee offer me.”

With offers coming quickly, Kerbyson plans to take his time, learn which schools are interested, and consider all of his options before naming any favorites.

“I’m just keeping my eyes open just trying to keep everything to the side and try to think about it all before I pick some schools,” Kerbyson said. “I am just going to play it by ear. I’m just figuring it out, seeing which schools offer me and then just cut them down.“

Kerbyson will be on campus for Tennessee’s Junior Day this weekend. After that, he plans to stay busy visiting other schools and taking part in as many camps as possible this summer.

“Vanderbilt, I’m definitely thinking about going up there during spring practice and Duke,” Kerbyson said. “I’m definitely going to try to go to four or five camps this summer.”

This kid has awesome potential! He needs to learn to stay low and keep good pad leverage and he’s an SEC star. Sign him coach Dooley. Don’t let this jewel get away right from under our noses!
