TENNESSEE & adidas UNVEIL 2013 UNIFORMS

KNOXVILLE –  The University of Tennessee and adidas today unveiled the 2013 football uniforms for the Vols, including an alternate TECHFIT uniform the team will wear this season.

Tennessee’s adidas TECHFIT alternate uniform is Smokey Gray with VOLS on the chest and the state outline above player names on the back. The Vols’ numbers feature a tonal orange checkerboard pattern inspired by Tennessee’s famous end zone.

This pattern also appears on the Vols’ adidas TECHFIT baselayer biceps and Tennessee will wear tonal orange wear adidas Team Speed vertical socks with Crazyquick and adizero 5-Star 2.0 cleats, which are a combination of gray and orange, including a checkerboard pattern on the heel of the shoe.

“We are excited at our lineup of adidas uniforms for Team 117 this season,” said head football coach Butch Jones. “The Smokey Gray uniform is a great addition for our program, and we believe will help our current and future student-athletes add to the strong tradition we have here at Tennessee.”

The Vols also revealed changes to their primary home and road uniforms. The primary home uniform will continue to feature an orange jersey with white pants while the primary road jersey will continue to be a white jersey with orange pants, but there have been changes to both.

The white jerseys will also feature a checkerboard pattern on the numbers, a Power T on the back, and Tennessee written above the numbers on the front. Additionally, and similar to the Smokey Gray jersey, the orange jersey will also have the outline of the state of Tennessee above the player names on the back of the jerseys.

Integrated CLIMACOOL mesh zones create airflow to keep players cool in every temperature.
