Nick Senzel drafted No. 2 overall in the 2016 MLB Draft

Tennessee third-baseman Nick Senzel has been selected by the Cincinnati Reds with the second overall pick of the 2016 MLB Draft.

Senzel played three seasons at Tennessee under Coach Dave Serrano. During his career, he hit .332 with 13 home runs, 126 RBIs and stole 46 bases.

“He can just flat hit. He’s a really good player,” Peter Gammons said on the MLB Network just before the draft.

Senzel was recently named a second-team All-American by Baseball America.

The Philadelphia Phillies selected OF Mickey Moniak with the first overall pick, just before the Reds selected Senzel at No. 2.
