Memphis post player Dominic Woodson is transferring to Tennessee, the AP reports. Woodson, who measures 6-foot-9 and weighs in the neighborhood of 300pounds, averaged 2.5 points and 1.9 rebounds last season as a freshman.
It’s unclear whether Woodson will be eligible to play during the 2014-15 season, however. He would likely need a “run-off” waiver from the NCAA to avoid sitting out a season. To obtain such a waiver, Woodson’s scholarship would had to have been revoked by the Tigers, he would have to be in good academic standing, and Memphis would have to approve the waiver.
While at Memphis Woodson had disciplinary issues.
Woodson is listed in the UT student directory as of Wednesday, which was the first day of classes for the fall semester.
