I‘m sorry if I took your response the wrong way. I took it as you saying I was the one doing the smoking.

I worked in Minor League Baseball in the front office for a Double-A team for 30 years. I know the industry like the back of my hand. That said, the Pioneer League (the teams in this discussion) aren’t MiLB, they’re independent.
We’ve got peeps here in the baseball forum with close ties to the Forest City Owls. I get it. I got a deep dive into MiLB around 2009 during the Astros deep dive rebuild.

A couple of photos of players you might recognize when they came to our ballpark as visiting players.

I’m not sure about this discussion, but there may be a little confusion. Northern Colorado Owlz aren’t the same as the Forest City Owls. Zane played last summer in Forest City. Zane started this season with the Billings Mustangs, and is now with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 🙂

Exactly. It got a little off track with Zane Denton’s stat line above. 👆🏼

I just didn’t want @sigmundoooz to show up in Windsor, CO this weekend like he said he was planning to do, expecting to see the Northern Colorado Owlz and Z Denton at Future Legends Complex.

Burke's bomb at Southern Miss.
Rob Fitzgerald’s home run in 2005 at Georgia Tech Super Region) was a huge game winner.

Stevie Daniels’s grand slam in 2001 in East Carolina super regional was a huge “screw you” to ECU and NCAA for making Tennessee go to middle of no where to play (like Hattiesburg ‘23)

Years ago I new a guy that played in the Pioneer League " I believe". That could be incorrect.
Anywho , the team he played for did not have a home field. All games were road games. Tough way to make a living, or starve to death..😆

I listened to both of those on the radio. Couldn’t for the life of me remember Daniels’ name. Thanks for that.

It’s crazy to think that these moments weren’t on TV not that long ago. ESPN was missing out on some great drama.

It wasn't post season but Max Ferguson's 3 run walkoff vs Hogs was majestic.

Evan Russell's 3rd HR v Vandy was pretty special also.

Fitzgerald's HR was on TV.

I was watching it from condo in Destin, FL. The rest of my fam had already left prior to Tropical Storm Arlene and I stayed a few more hours to watch the game. Took rental car to Atlanta and watch game 2 the next afternoon. Arlene was the first named storm of 2005 when they actually ran out of names. (Katrina was included in that list)

Stevie Daniels's HR was not on TV. It was actually the first sporting event I listened to over internet. Dial Up actually that kept dropping.

I was in Pigeon Forge during Fitzgerald's HR. We had about 4 channels in the place we were staying in, so I went out in the car to listen on the radio. The reception was spotty, but I got it to come through.

Did the same thing for Daniels' HR, except I was sitting in my car in my own driveway. I listened to a lot of UT baseball on car radios over the years. When I was a kid (14 or so), I remember going out into my backyard for better reception on my radio to listen to UT teams with Doug Hecker, Chris Freeman, Mike Basse, and later, Helton, Dickey, Scott Schroeffel, Ryan Meyers, Bubba Trammell, etc.

I had to stream the Daniels HR because I had terrible radio reception in Walland.
