I honestly just think that people couldn't get with the styling of it. VII, VIII and X forward are all very different from how IX looked, even though it was more classic FF.

Skyrim and FF XII are the only RPG's I've invested any time with.

before that, it was paper and dice based AD&D, Rolemaster, MERP, and Champions

That's exactly what it was. I really wish they would come out with another classic FF style game. I miss the wizards with the big pointy hats and the knights and priests and all that good stuff. The new stuff is too futuristic.

I'd just like to see one with a classic battle system.

FF9 was the last FF I played and finished; couldn't get into ff10 and haven't played any of the new ones due to the change.

yup, yup - boss battles that would take you to the limits and you'd barely survive with like one character left dishing out the finishing blow. That's nerd catnip right there.

FF2 caused me to destroy a couple of controllers

I tried FF10, hated the combat system and the game engine cinematics were awful.

I know a lot of people prefer the combat system of X and XIII, but I greatly preferred the open world combat of XII.

This is sinful talk among FF fans. That battle system alone made it feel nothing like a Final Fantasy game.

Felt more like Kingdom Hearts IMO.

So after this post I did some research on FFXV. Turns out its going to be another open-battle system like XII. The article even referenced the similarities between it and Kingdom Hearts........ I hate my life.......

To add to this, I read they're going to give it a "modern-day city" feel to the setting. . . It's almost like they forgot what the second word in the game title is :ermm:

I've never beat a FF game (beside tactics)..I've played 789 and 10.... Didn't like 10.

I'm on the last Boss on 7 and 8, and 2nd to last on 9.

I've tried over a 100 times, I just can't win. Lol

How has nobody mentioned The Secret of Mana. SNES, fantastic game. :hi:

I read about this in Game Informer. It looks interesting. I'll have to check, but I think the article I read mentioned it being available on iOS.

Secret of Mana was awesome - one of the only multiplayer RPGs in existence.
