The other day me and my wife was getting school clothes for my daughter and she's 6 , my wife found a nice outfit that had a elephant on it and my daughter said no way that I'm wearing that bc that stands for Alabama and she said we are going to get a stuffed elephant and burn it this year when we beat Alabama! Your stories please?

My kids are back and forth because my wife is a delusional dawg fan. I have at times however held them down and washed their mouths out with soap for saying "go dawgs". 😜

You did the right thing

Any time they need money (since they could talk), I've made them repeat "daddy's girl, Tennessee rules, and Georgia stinks". If they come to me and start with that, I know they want money for something.

Mink, I'm a dismal failure.

Two daughters. Now 21 years old (twins).

Tried to get them into football all their lives...no go. I can get them to patiently sit in the room while I watch a game if I really ask nice, and they'll ask semi-appropriate questions like, "why do some guys kneel down (3 or 4 point stance, is what they mean) and some stand up before they start moving around?" but they don't really care. Just like their mom, heh.

Worse--far, far worse--they both decided to go to Vandy. Also influenced primarily by their mom. I didn't really mind, to be honest, because they both wanted to be doctors and Vandy has a good academic rep for getting them there, but still. Damn Vandy.

So...couldn't get them into orange, and couldn't even get them into football. I am a complete failure.

But...Go Vols!

And I thought some of the guys with wives Joe Kenda talks about married badly. You just made those mail order bride agencies look like a great idea.

Yeah ... but she's so perfect in every other way! I mean, she is awesomesauce...except when it comes to football.

So she probably scores about 30 out of 100 on the "Football Spouse Test," haha.

Ah well, at least I have marvelous company 350-352 days out of the year (the days the Vols aren't playing), eat well, and sleep better. :)

Finally I connect with you ! Sweet!

It was awesome i church they would see someone wearing an Alabama shirt and they would say "I peepee on Lalabama."

One of them did turn out to be a LSU though. But living in Alabama, getting them to go for a team other than Alabama is a success. I did convert my wife to a vols fan, with help from the vol navy and my daughter is a vols fan.

No kids. I have 4 nieces and nephews who live in TN. Have tried everything I could including taking some of them to games at neyland. They have another uncle who is a Bama fan. 3 of them love bama and the 4th doesn't care. They wear Bama gear and to be fair in their young minds Bama is an invincible force. The only way I can phase them, for now, is to sport Clemson swag which is more likely to make them cry than make them rethink Bama.

Raising her right! I have the same aversion to elephants for the same reason and I hate it because they are really cool animals! Dang Bama! 😤 LOL

I have told this on here before.

My oldest is 12. When she was in Kindergarten we had an issue. The teacher asked to speak to me one afternoon during child pick up time. I had no clue what this could be about so I anxiously waited.

The teacher, with a very serious expression, said "Your daughter has been asking classmates if they were Alabama fans. And telling them that her dad said she couldn't be friends with them."

The teacher began to smile. She is a huge UT fan. She had daughters go to UT and play sports. I looked at her and said "Go Vols". We laughed. And I promised I would talk to my child and reign her in just a little bit. That was a proud day for me. I knew I was doing something right!
