'Bout the same:

Two of the first tee
No mulligans
Buck a hole for pars
Two bucks for birdies
Sandy par is two bucks
Closest to the green is a buck on par 3s
Cooler must be stocked
Winner buys at least first round
Fastest cart improves ball position (Kidding)

We play it down but we do invoke a "divot rule".

I get the argument that it's under repair and tend to agree, but we're just ruling out all room for interpretation. It hurts at times, but scores are generally legit and big group bets tend to be more fair. Our course is in very good shape and gets limited play so it's not bad. We play same on the road, where we get more bad breaks.

Can't shoot the course record with 2 off the 1st.

I only own one course record. I'm the only sober person to ever get a golf cart stuck in Beaver Creek, CO. Of course I was twelve, but I'm still proud of the accomplishment. Course records are safe with me.

we just play it down, that way there is no room for debates.

I think it depends a lot on the condition of your fairways. If you are constantly in moon craters where short grass should be, rolling it has a stronger argument. In my usual group, rolling it caused issues, so it was abandoned several years ago. The game is better for it.

2 off the first tee and roll it in the fairway. As far as ob goes, you'd better hit a provisional.

Just out of curiosity, for those that take two off of one, if you hit your second, do you have to play it?

Oh. Dollar skins that carry over, birdies pay double. We might not have the rules regarding pressing quite worked out just yet.

We play OB off the tee as a lateral hazard. Just drop in the area and take a penalty stroke. Keeps it moving at a better pace.

Oh, and if the ball is near the cart path/on rocky soil/etc, we allow to move it into some grass. None of my group of friends can afford a new club because we played it in bad conditions.

You get relief from cart path, either swing or footing, under the rules. Rocky soil should probably be GUR, too.

We take a bit more relief than the Rules allow. Same with ball right behind a tree/on roots/whatever.

It doesn't really help our score too much (we're not very good), but does save clubs.

We only hit the second one if we need it, so there's never a question. Our group frowns on getting one in play and then swinging for the fences on a second one as if you're the last guy hitting in a scramble.

That's why I asked. In our group, if you take the second ball, the first is out of play. It doesn't just eliminate swinging for the fences; it prevents people from wasting time when they have a playable ball. Makes sense to me. The only reason to allow it is because people haven't warmed up properly, and I don't want to wait for them while they do jumping jacks.

Extension of the cart path is relief as well

I'm not sure I know what an extension of the cart path is.

As a 16-handicapper, I'm in absolutely no danger of shooting a course record, so I roll 'em in the fairway. At some of the classier, upscale courses I play from time to time, such as Whittle Springs, I've been known to roll 'em on the green (no closer to the hole, of course) to have something resembling a reasonable path on which to putt.

If you hit balls before the round, no first-tee mulligan. If not, two off the first tee is fine.

Absolutely. If your first one's in the fairway and somewhere past the forward tees, you play it.
